This last year has been a real financial disaster for me.
I lost all my savings, was betrayed by a "friend"...I could go on and on but that's not why I'm writing.
I'm writing a letter of thanks to my Creator.
My finances are still lousy(but they're getting better all the time). As a matter of fact we're at poverty level, according to statistics.
Out of necessity I've learned to cook and bake again. Instead of buying premade biscuits and breads, I'm making my own.
I mend my own clothes instead of taking them elsewhere.
The local laundromat doesn't wash my clothes anymore---I do them myself.
Yes, I knew how to do these things (and more) before but it was more convenient for me to take them somewhere for someone else to do.
It gives me a great sense of satisfaction now.
So I thank God for the hard times because this is what came out of it.

That is good. Everything has its purpose why it happens that to you. We are also in a poverty level, well, that is what my mom says, but I still think that we're not in a poverty level or maybe I was thinking too much positive. I believe that we can still solve the problem about the financial issue.
I also thank God. I thank God for everything, but I did not thank for what happen to me. I thank him for everything and that is it.

My Gramma once told me that people can't see God in those tough times because they only focus on the pain all around them---but He's still there
Rich people, well, people with real wealth have family, friends and love.
God gives us all access to those---and they're all free!
Hang in there, sweetie, life is good---sometimes you just have to look harder for the "good"
may God bless you

God never leaves us
it's just that sometimes we can't see how much He cares because the pain of circumstances around us is all we see

You have a wonderful attitude. Many people would feel bitter and angry and even if you understandably did for a short period of time, you are now heading in the right direction. You are an inspiration to all who read you! God Bless you and I wish you health, wealth and happiness

Truthfully I did for a short period of time questioned and was hurt but then I remembered His words of promise and His faithfulness.

Hi,
You have true faith on God.So you could face the hardships in your life. You have made honest efforts to come out from hardships. You didn't forget to thank God in happy situation. Some people remember God in adverse conditions and forget to thank God in happiness. I wish you happy and prosperous life forever.

I am proud of you and I really admire your positive attitude. I must admit when bad and hard times happen to me, instead of trusting and having faith in God, I feel bad about myself and I blame other people. I know this should not be the proper attitude. I also get jealous with someone else who has a better life. I think I should always remember the verse in the Bible that says "man does not live by bread alone". Money should not always be my focus in life. Struggles and problems happen because it teaches us lessons on how to be strong and rely our faith that God will help us.

your story is really inspiring. Not everyone has the strength to rise after they hit rock bottom. Most people don't realize their strength to rise. You are one of the people who faced hardships and didn't complaint about life's misgivings. That would make you a strong survivor. Thanks for sharing such faithfulness in God.

I think most of us could simplify our lives so much more.. I think some of that is very good for us. Though of course too much is a little much. I have to carry my own water.. thankfully I can get it from the store.. We could use our well for drinking if we had access to it without it going through our old tank and pipes.. We're getting ready to buy a wood stove. Just in case there's ever a huge storm in the winter or cold weather and the electricity goes out. Or man's economy crashes for a time or for good! I remember Y2K which I never put much stock in nor worried about. Do you remember that? I remember hearing some folks laugh.. like man's world could never collapse. What were they thinking? Man's world is not eternal.. Not like our loving Father's world, which btw I think we humans have managed to smother to a certain degree. But! We have to have jobs.. But it is so nice to think about anfd look forward to a world where all things are not bought and sold, but life becomes simpler (yet more intricate, exciting and fascinating, I'm sure!) I know one of the Bible prophets says something about "the burden will be lifted off your shoulders". It actually says "his" meaning in this instance the king of babylon, which most Bible prophecy buffs know refers to the one who Jesus says He saw fall from heaven like lightning and revelation chapter 13 says 1/3 fell with him.. Of course some don't believe any of that, even Christians.. like man's world and empires will go on forever and ever.. But in the 'end' only truth can remain standing and man's world of $$$ is built on untrue foundations.. That notorious $iTy of the Book of Revelation. The one which made the merchants rich and they will weep when no one buys their long list of rev 18.
Anyway, I like your attitude!

I am glad to hear that slowly but surely, your are getting back on your feet. And I like how your faith never faltered. And the way your discussion goes, I can say that you are still far off better than most people. Most of all, you have this very wonderful attitude of being positive despite the bad things that has happened to you. You did not let them ruin your faith and you still have belief in what you can do.

I have always had to do those things for myself except for always having to cook everything from scratch like biscuits and bread etc. I don't consider myself poor but growing up having to do these things have made it easy for me to go ahead and do them even if I had the money to do otherwise. I think it is probably going to be harder on those who are used to be waited on if a really bad depression comes like people keep telling me is going to happen then for those who of us who are used to doing for ourselves. There was a time when we were short on money so I even know what it is to sleep in a car or a truck. That was the only way we could afford to go traveling.

I love reading articles like this. Very inspiring. Despite hardship and trials, you managed to keep your faith and thank God for the things that you still have. It's great to hear you are slowly getting back to track. Keep still my friend. More blessings to come.
