Still not a million users on Thit!

Last year, I signed up for, and received a shirt advertising a new social networking site called Thit!, which was expected to be launched in December, 2012, after having one million sign ups. There would be times I would see no new mentions of it on twitter. I see recently there was a few mentions, but the site still states it will launch when there are a million users. One of the things that I read that interested me, was that when someone shared something, friends had the option to share as well or stop it from being passed on. You could see how many people had shared something you shared, which could interest those who create things and want to see how much interest there is. Have you heard of it? When I first registered, it was described as beta testing for a website. A free shirt for signing up. My husband said he would not of bothered, since it was so vague. Now, it is not as much and it is still not so popular.

I have never hard of this site called Thit, and if it is a social web site, I don't join those any way, they are a waste of time for me, I have better things to do with my time, like being here in Mylot comment on, these nice discussions.

I can appreciate that. I mainly use social networking sites to keep in contact with family, since we live apart and we move often. I also use them for samples, as many companies make it where you can only request them through certain ones, and as a newsfeed of sorts on my phone to keep up with things I am interested in, though not so much of that lately. I think I need to add more interests on mylot, I don't see many I feel welcomed to participate in, and many of the ones I have started have few or no comments.

I looked at the website (as much as there is of it to see). I think I can see why it hasn't taken off. It is, as your husband says "vague". There's a very short 'Privacy policy' but no explanation of what might make the site different from (or better than) other social networking sites and there are no Terms and Conditions that I can see (perhaps they pop up when you sign up?).

I don't recall if there were terms and conditions, it was awhile ago when I registered. I had read an article about a few of the differences after a search. Only the one I mentioned stood out, at the time it seemed different, but FB has changed some since then, and seem to be on they way to doing the same thing.

This is the first mention I've seen of it. It appears we need a mobile phone to sign up. Too bad

Perhaps that is why it has not become popular. I have even changed numbers since I registered.

Wow, that is neat. How do you get in that? Was it by registered phone number?
