My husband is a breeder of fightingc0cks for so many years. And so there are times that there are a lot of them, including hens and chicks. I do not recommend a chicken to be a child's pet because if it gets crazy, it can perch on the eye of the child and go blind. That is my biggest fear. So, my kids are trained not to go near them especially hens who have chicks which they could be really feisty.

Regardless ehat kind of chicken it was, still it id capable of huryong your nephew. Consider the sharp BEAK AND CLAWS OF THE CHICHEN WHICH CAN ACTUALLY SCRATCH THE SKIN OR WORSE, THE EYES.

Hello Tushavi! awwww well is was very nice of your nephew to try and share his biscuit but like someone else said, maybe talk to your nephew and tell him what chickens like to eat and how to feed them so this doesn't happen again. Good luck and sorry he got hurt. Happy MyLotting. ~AussieGal~

Someone needs to explain to Aammar that animals are a lot like people. They like and dislike things but they cannot tell us in words that they don't want something. All they know how to do is growl, bite, peck, run away or some other physical thing. As your nephew gets to know his chickens better he might pick up on some signals they send with the way they hold their bodies or heads or they way they cluck to express their pleasure or not. It just takes patience and effort. Loving animals is an early sign of empathy, being able to know how other people feel. It is a wonderful gift. Aammar and his family are blessed that his heart is so big even as young as he is.

From what I understand, you're not suppose to feed birds from the palm of your hand. Birds peck their food, and if the food is in your palm, you will get pecked. The chick wasn't trying to hurt him. It was just getting the food the only way it know how. Tell your nephew to throw the biscuit crumbs on the ground, or hold it between his fingers until it's too small to hold. The chick will peck at the biscuit and not him.

As long as he doesn't insists to eat them, consider he loves them- cheers.
