Making noise while baby sleeps

I really should have done that when my daughter was a baby. She has a hard time sleeping through noise now since I tiptoed around the house when she was little. Do you find it really makes a difference to teach them to learn to sleep through noise when they get older.

Actually I don't know. I'm a new mom. So far, I played music while my daughter is sleeping. I want her to sleep uninterrupted so I'm doing my best to keep our home quiet but I don't tip toe.

My son too likes peace and quiet when sleeping. What I do is I make white noise. Just try playing music, softly at first then slowly increase the volume until he gets use to it. Or i turn on the airconditioner which makes a buzzing sound, or turning on the tv. Try it everytime she sleeps until she gets used to it.

I was told about this, but I do not agree with that. I think babies should stay in the silent and comfortable environment, so they will feel secure and contented when they grow up. I believe the they will be living in peace. We, as adult, always prefer to sleep in a cozy and quiet place, don't we? I can still fall asleep in a noisy environment when I am tired, but when I am stressed or not sleepy, the noise really annoys me. (I was grown up in a noisy environment, as my mom believed that.) I have read that children are difficult to fall asleep, especially into deep sleep, hence they will be awaken easily if they haven't deep sleep yet.

Hi there! Well, I have not observed if my baby was able to sleep with noises around him. Well, our place is relatively noisy since tricycles and cars pass by sometimes but there are always a lot of people outside, and our windows are usually open so maybe I was immune to the sounds that I am not affected by it whenever I am sleeping. Now that my son is ten years old, he can sleep soundly even when there are noises.

I don't think you need to tell them how to adjust the environment. As time flies and they grow older, they'll meet different situations that needs their adjustion. So make her comfortable right now and i believe she has the ability to deal with things.

Yeah I found it made a very big difference. My kids can sleep through mostly anything because I always made sure there was noise when my kids were babies. I would purposely make noise and let people talk while they were asleep. They have to get used to it, sometimes in life there will be noise while we sleep. There are situations we cannot avoid through life when there is noise even when sleeping. College with a room mate, possibly military where you share rooms as well with other people, if you live in a busy city or near a train station or an airport, etc... It is unavoidable sometimes.

I have heard that yes, make all the noise while they are sleeping so they get use to it. I think my mom tiptoed around the house which is why I'm a very light sleeper and need complete silence to be able to fall asleep. As for my two girls though they can sleep through anything once they are asleep. I didn't make a big deal of everyone being quiet while my girls were babies. Now my two granddaughters can sleep through most things too because my daughter and my son-in-law didn't tiptoe throughout the house.

I've always had loud sounds. My kids an sleep throw each other crying. I play music for both of them and can fall a sleep on there own. They are like there father when really tired they sleep like rocks.

You are right, I too face the same problem when mine wakes up even at a little noice. I should have taught her to take things in normal way rather make him sensitive too such issues. I would love to see responses here to know whether things can improve from now on. Thanks a lot for this one.
