6 things I hate in our local news programs

1. Too many bad news- Its our media's fault though, its something our government, police force and education system (yes it has something to do with it) why majority of out news are pessimistically depressing.
2.Over hyping on international stars with Filipino parentage- over hyping their Filipino parentage is not going to help their career. You know there are Filipinos with over exaggeration with their Pinoy pride, They will be so proud that they will spam social media with "Proud to be Filipino" "pinoy pride" until the international audience got alienated to like them and refuse to buy their albums.
overhyping wont help International Filipino stars with their careers, It alienates people of other races to like him or her. Instead of claiming that person , just support them and buy their album but our News programs keeps on encouraging over hyping them, even if they were passing as white.
3. Taking paranormal news seriously- we are the only country on earth that have fairies, demons, mythical monsters and witches in our local news. Specially before election.
4.Just because an actor and actress is in soap opera or movie together "they have a relationship"
5.Too many technical problems-Both abs-cbn and Gma have their fair share of embarrassing technical problems until now.
6.too much cover ups on certain politicians.

Agree!! And that is why it is so much fun in the Philippines!!! ;)
Very well said Albert, that is what's wrong with the news, i do not trust it now because when i went to mindanao, the much hyped war in there was not even existing as they say in the news. its too hyped making all our Filipino muslim brothers look so bad.
i think you forgot to add here they kept boasting about what they did, what they have done or given to people duriing tough times... ? ;)

Remember Ces Drilon going to Abu Sayaf camp for no reason, she just basically risk her life so she can be a news maker, she literally put her life in the risk to get hyped as a newscaster. Then in GMA 7, Its so embarrassing watching Mike Enriquez who buckles his lines a lot.

He does buckles, he would even cough in a middle of a report and jjust excuse himself. (this has become such a hit too even in gags and all). I guess that he already has had such a habit.
As for Ces drilon, i think she did not anticipate or she ruled out the possibility of being captured since she was part of the media.

Remember when the government ask the media to shut up and have a media blackout so they can rescue hostages? instead of shutting up, they hyped it more. (facepalm)

Bad news - Well it is only bad things that make news any ways. A human tendency nowadays, we are not happy in other people's happiness. So we are not interested in that good news if it is of no use to us directly. It is a sorry state of affairs but somehow that is what attracts audience to the news channels, bad news. Who is reporting the worst news and in how much sensational way do they present it decides their TRP or eyeball rate. So now Tv news channel race towards who will show the worst news, then it will disasters, paranormal, coverups, scams, rapes and murders anything and every bad news possible.

you also notice when there is crime, they will over hype it so the public will be angry and they will use that hype to get ratings. Bad news does happen and we cant avoid that but they werent use to warn the public,. they were used for sensationalism.

1. Too many bad news- Captain, bad news sells. Good news sometimes don’t.
2. Over hyping on international stars with Filipino parentage- Spot on. I hate this aprt., really. Fails the ‘so what’ test. Is them beign Filipino of real importance to us? Speaking a few Tagalog word, for me, isn’t gonna cut it.
3. Taking paranormal news seriously- Interesting. Haven’t heard this kind.
5.Too many technical problems- Guess even networks need good equipment.
6.too much cover ups on certain politicians. This is a can of worms that might enver be resolved.

I think bad news is a global phenomenal that's why I didn't blame it too much as the others. I think manananggal and aswang attacks are still regular part of our news headlines. about international star with Filipino parentage, we should love stars for their talent not for their ethnic background.

I can see our local media as similar to fox news news, and that is not a good thing, knowing how Fox news is seen as a Joke now.

Captain, comparing our news industry to Fox news might be a little harsh. Seen some clips from that network and their personalities and I have to say they are sometimes amusing and I had to stop watching or else. Anyone, I have to say that our news industry has its own fair share of sensationalism and tabloid style reporting. Bets watch for a either a Conservative/republican vs Liberal comment though.

I think fox news is one of the most popular local channel in the states which purely report within about America and it's people. focuses more on the Citizens of the US, right wing and completely propaganda for the US. they love their country that they prefer reporting good news and bad news about their country rather than other nations.
