DO you know craigslist? Some people who are selling stuff in craigslist are not careful enough. Why? Because some of them just give their home address to people who they didnt even know. I mean how will you know if the person whom you've given your home address is a good person and not a criminal or murderer or something lol. If I will sell something and someone wants to buy it, I would do meet-ups in public and not in my home address. How about you? Have you ever bought something from craigslist?

It would be a better idea to ship the item. Protecting your private information is a good thing but then we use the newspaper and sometimes put our phone number. People can get a lot of information from that right there so at some point we have to ask ourself a question or how safe is safe and how safe do we really need to be? I don't use craigslist.

I've heard some people use ebay but perhaps because it is so big not easy to work with?

Yes you are right, shipping the item is probably better.

I have only used craigslist once. Luckily the seller was really nice to me.

I agree with you, the idea of giving out your personal address rather than just doing meet-ups for a business transaction is unsafe. In PH, a very common way for an online business trans. is by meet-ups

Its safe on the part of the buyer and convenient on the part of the seller.

Yup! That's really true. I have a friend in PH that has online business and all she do is meet-ups. She usually do it in the mall.

I have a small business online. Aside from the website that I created, I do sometimes post on craigslist. I understand that it could really be dangerous to post personal information on the site, as it may attract unwanted elements. I just direct my craigslist add to my business website. This way it screens off unwanted characters, and only real interested customers go to my site.

I think it is terribly dangerous to give your address out on Craigslist. There was a killer going around killing people from Craigslist.

There should always be precautions and I agree with meet-ups on public places. I never bought anything from craigslist. I still prefer ebay :)

you are right when we sell items though craigs list we do put our self at risk but how else do we get the stuff to the buyer if they don't come to our home it puts you in a catch 22

yeah that is one of the reasons why I don't buy from craigslist. Although it's cheaper than ebay at times, I'll rather go with ebay.
