When I was young I dreamed of being a Lawyer but I never did become a Lawyer. I have studied on a graduate study of one of the Law Schools but I quit when I have only one year to go. My two daughters at that time were both College graduate and I can no longer afford the tuition fees so I sacrificed my childhood ambition for the sake of my two daughters. Today my two daughter are already College graduate. I did not become a Lawyer but I am successful in assisting my two daughters in becoming successful.

I always have wanted to become a cop. Then a fireman and an animal doctor. I have realized my dream of becoming a fireman by being a volunteer at the local station. The closest I have gotten to becoming cop is a job in corrections. But I have never been able to become an animal doctor. But we as parents sacrifice for our children. But maybe one day you can go back and realize your dream of becoming a lawyer. We postpone our dreams we shouldn't have to never realize them.

It is fun to remember bragging something who we are but in an instant on a wink of an eye nothing is hard when it comes to the welfare of our children.

well, it's good that you didn't become a cop, outcast. cops are not the most popular people in the world. i.e. many people do not like the police.

I have dreamed of becoming a doctor. My uncles and mom were all in the medical field and so I grew up reading those Medical books and journals. However, when I was to take a course in College, my mom discouraged me to take Medicine coz maybe she was thinking of how expensive it could be. But what she told me was that if I would just study until the Pre-Med course, I might just end up being a teacher. But thinking about it now, being a teacher would be fine as well coz I also wanted to be one. And so, what I took was Dentistry, instead. I am not sure if she was really fine with that but I just didn't want to any course that is not Medically-related.

You know, you could perhaps finish your studies now. I went back to the university for what I really liked when my children were grown ups. Never say never. Don`t rest on the past, except for experience.

Yeah experienced is the good teacher. As we grow old we don't because we are good but because we are experienced and the greatest teacher of all time is experienced

Hi, I want to have my own scientific laboratory where I can carry experiments and invent new things. I am a science fan and I admire people like Nicola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Michael Faraday, people who made significant contribution to society by their inventions. Until now, I crave for a lathe machine housed beside a stream to turn it in order to start my projects but I still haven't the time nor the money to do it.

I admire you for being a responsible father which my father failed to do for all of us siblings. When I was a child, I always wanted to be a veterinarian but being the eldest among the three (2 years age gap), I also gave way to my younger brother and sister after I graduated in college. I was not able to pursue my dreams because of family issues 20 years ago. Though I did not became a vet, I am taking care of my 4 dogs and a puppy. :D

Yeah it is true today I can only that I have reach what I wanted before though it was not really the thing I dreamed before but because I have seen myself in my two daughters. Today for me change of perspective for good is a way of life.

When I was a child, I wanted to be a scientist. So I tried hard and now it becomes true. My mother onces wanted to have college education, but she did not make it, so she put all effects on me to make her dream come true, And I did it. From my own experience, it is a heavy burden to take other people's dream, especially your loved ones, while it is very happy to make your own dream come true. So I will not let my children to afford my dream, I do it by myself.

Way to go Dad! That is what we parents do. I gave up the job I had set a goal to get to take care of my sick and dying mother. Now I forgo the travel and such that I had planned on when I retired to help my daughter raise her son. Parental love is overwhelming and what we get back is very satisfying.

Hi, You could not complete your dream of becoming lawyer but you have successfully give education to your daughter. Both of them are graduated. Really you are a nice and responsible father. I wanted to become a doctor but it's just dream at the younger age. I couldn't become doctor. But I don't feel any sad. I am commerce graduate and then I completed diploma in management. My son is engineer.

When other girls were playing house, I was dreaming of being someone like Lenny Bruce or Oscar Levant or Groucho Marx, then I would also pretend that I was a producer of horror films, and making them out of paper drawings. I could not stand to play with baby dolls and strollers like other girls, so was very glad that my best friends were boys. I used to read the Famous Monsters of Movieland magazines my sister got and wanted to produce and direct these kinds of movies. We would have plays in our back yard and charge other kids to come and see them. I would put together performances or my friends would, and we would act them out. So for me, a creator of horror films and a philosopher like Lenny.

Believe it or not, i had no plans of what i need to be in future. Many would ask me the same question and i would say i have no clue. But i was kind of ok with my studies and things.I just wanted to be financially independent. That was something i always wanted badly and not yet achieved. It was based on the situation at home.My dad hardly gave me any pocket money.I think i hardly had anything during my entire childhood and up until i was teenager. While in high school,I thought of trying the administrative services of my country.I studied for it for 5 years or should say prepared for it for 5 years. But could not make the cut unfortunately.I studied engineering and was kind of ok with the things. But then faith had it, and i am currently an IT consultant.I am ok with the profession. But then i still have something in heart to try other ventures as well in parallel.I believe i need to something to have both my aspirations and ambitions to be met.But then sad to hear your part.It is hard when you need to sacrifice your childhood dreams and aspirations.I have done a few things like that and its always hard to even think about it.Hope things went well for your two daughters. Thanks!
