hi to all
well, human needs work to earn their living, there are lot of ways of humans to earns money, some peoples doing small works or work hard & earns a little money, some don't work & earns big money, but sometimes these peoples called "Corrupt" by nations & common peoples, In Pakistan, I See everyone runs for "Government jobs" here, when I see all guys of my age run for government jobs I am also curious & know more about the Government Jobs, HMMMM, I do searching, meet some government workers, & soon Understand that Peoples need "Government Jobs" because its actually a "Corruption Jobs" or "Money Making" without any work, well 90% Government peoples here don't do their work, or either calls themselves Poor Citizens & always searching for more & more money, they don't cares where this money came from either from Corrupt Person or criminals, well I can't say All are corrupt but 90% are, as a Business Family Person, I do work hard easily, but I have one bad habit as well, I'm kind of moody person & also don't accept any slavery, If the employer treats me likes a slave within a second I write a resignation, I'm sorry guys but its my bad habit, I also understand, that Moody persons are not best for some jobs, because those Jobs Needs work on exact timing, anyway, I work on private companies & easily settle on positions because when I do work I forget about anything, now came to the title question I asked, I want to do a job which is comfortable & respectable for me, either its Private Job or Government Job, So I want to asks you guys??? which type of Job you prefer "Government Job" or "Private Job"??? have a nice day...

we have the same problem i live in the UK and the government are trying to save money by cutting back ob government jobs its sad because people are paying more tax and getting less for the money. The recession is pretty bad and even the private sector are struggling to employe people.

I prefer to work from home. Sitting in front of the computer and earning money is very good. Earning money from home through some other method is also good.
Outside work- whether it is private or government- is not for me. In a way, government jobs are slightly better than government because at least there is a better salary and job security, pensions etc..

For me, I would prefer to work for the private sector. The reason that I personally choose this kind of job is that it is a kind of job that is more fitting for the personality that I have. However, I do think that there are a lot of good things about working for the government as well. You see, my father worked for the Federal Government here at the Bureau of Prisons. He wasn't well paid during his lifetime, but the benefits that he had were great and my mother will get a pension for my father's service to our country for the rest of her life.

for me i will choose the government job because it has many benefits from the government compare to private companies, the benefits are very limited only depend upon the sales and growth of their company, but the only thing i hate in government agency is all boys should in neat hair.so all boys should have short hair.

I prefer private jobs. From my experience, private jobs at a low level pay more than government jobs at that same low level. So you understand why I would choose private jobs. The higher ups in a government job in my experience prefer to keep the money to their selves rather than give it to new employees. In private sectors i was able to make a little more than twice what I was going to receive from the government sector.
Relating to corruption, I would have to say that I agree with you. I don't really trust the government but then again we live different places and what i am experiences is not necessarily what you are experiencing.
That moody attitude of yours is going to need to fix to be honest. No disrespect but sometimes you will need to bare certain treatments if you want to be successful. Sometimes people will also reward you for coping through such treatments. Giving the wrong attitude will give the wrong idea that you can't manage certain jobs, and would give you a negative look when applying for future jobs, especially if you ever need a recommendation from such a company.

I have experienced both and I prefer working in the government, mainly because it is not hard to ask for leave of absence during emergencies. Working in that office are the best years of my career. I have experienced meeting different people of different nationalities. I have joined and ate with them. But the best part of working in it is that we feel like a big family.
Like you said, corruption in the government is widespread. I see some who take advantage of their position but can not be really categorized as corruption.

I have had both kinds of jobs. I can't say a government job is full of challenges, many people are payed for just being there/present. So I assume it depends on you as a person which job is right for you. I don't like to be bored whole day on, times goes way too slow if you feel that way. No matter if they pay or not.

i have worked for both i used to work for a big supermarket chain and now i work for the local government. I must say that i prefer to work for the local government because you have more protection because of the unions, you dont really get that unless you work for a big firm. I could be about to lose my job because of the government cutbacks.
