If Manila Zoo doesn't permit Maali to be send to Thailand then I guess they improve there present facility. Now they know that the feet of Maali is the cause of problem. Then they do something about the cement.

Maali is the elephant that lives on Manila Zoo here in the Philippines. There were several issues tackled on TV regarding the detrimental conditions that he was subjected to since he was not properly taken care of. People reacted especially those that are pet or animal lovers.
It was good that his plight was mentioned on TV otherwise those people concern will never act on whatever happens to him. Quite sad because the last time I visited the zoo it was in run down condition. Hopefully Manila will make improvements and care more for the animals.

Thank. That's what I want to know about. I think it is the government's responsibility to take care of them. Their population will perhaps fall down to.

Malli is already very old and not fit to travel.it would risk his life if thy continue to send him to thailand.
The only thing they can do is to take good care of the elephant and give him the best while he is still alive....let us learn from the mistakes of lolong the crocodile....

hello syoti20! i watched Kuya Kim's Matanglawin this morning which featured maali. the caretaker said its a very old elephant and if its transfer be allowed then it wont be able to survive it. it would suffer severely and might die so i feel very strongly that Maali should stay in the Philippines for the rest of its life.
