Me and my teenage daughter both need new cell phones and we prefer prepaid services.Right now her service is on Virgin Mobile and mine on AT&T.Last summer when my Virgin Mobile phone died is when I had to go to AT&T because that was the only working phone I had in a drawer.
I have a hard time seeing the screen to both read or send a text.I would like to have a phone with the capacity to both listen to my text and speak the text that I am sending. Therefore I am considering gttng an iphone 4s and my daughter wants the 4 iphone.
With Virgin Mobile we can get those phones prepaid. Each of those phones have 8 MB capacity that can be fully used for the unlimited monthly rate plan of $55.People had told me about purchasing a cheaper prepaid phone, but I have found that you only get to us 1 GB and download a program that I can speak and hear text with.
What do you rhink?

Leave alone androids and iPhones . You can get some really cheap deals on Nokia lumia and some BlackBerry phones . Not everyone appreciates an iPhone today .And it terribly lacks that wow factor that it had . These days people get attracted towards colorful phones like the lumia . Or if you want to get some real productivity out of you phone at a cheap cost then it's the BlackBerry .
But all if you want is temple run, instagram and Netflix then you should necessarily go for the old and boring iPhone or some stupid galaxy series phone out there .
What I am trying to say is if you are not really crazy about applications and want a phone mainly for communication and internet along with mild gaming ' it isn't worth going for the iPhone .

Yes exactly . Blackberry have got a really new full touch screen phone . It looks cool and promising . But its more of a premium device and currently not a hot deal . Maybe you could get some really good deals on phones like Lumia 820,620 because they have been in the market for quiet sometime and they are offered in various deals . Especially verizon has some very good deals on their top selling Lumia 822 model .
Also the lumias are getting better attention these days from people around because android never impresses and iPhone has been out there the same way for many years . The Lumias are really colorful and at the end of the tend to gain more attraction .

Cricket phones have large buttons, but I'm not sure if they are pre-paid or not. I'm hoping to convert my phone to Straight Talk from Walmart in the next few months-my contract expired last June, and the bill is just way too high.

I've heard that Consumer Cellular has really low cost plans for members of AARP. I'd love it if they had my phone-I really love playing games on it!

Depends really on you... if you can afford Iphone then i think that would be really good for you and your daughter. :D Iphone 5 is out in the market though so you might want to check out if it has bigger screen for better comfort browsing the web and of course for your texting.
I would also like to suggest if you like to look into samsung galaxy s3. its bigger than iphone 4s and it has 1 gb ram and 16 gb storage. your daughter would love the many apps she can download, and of course the themes she can use for it. its very handy when it comes to browsing and i find it super easy to use and to personalize as well. :D
Im not a fan of blackberry because its got small qwerty touch pad. i find that limiting, as it is not often very convenient to text with qwerty keypads.

I think whichever in the loong run would save money. I mean if you have to download something which most likely cost more money, plus time and minutes each month. I don't think $55 is all that bad. I pay $75 - $85 a month for my Blackberry and it comes with unlimiited taexted decent minutes, and internet.

If you go with an iPhone i'd suggest getting extended warranty. My friend had his iPhone 4 break down twice but he had extended warranty so he got a brand new phone each time without any hassle which was nice.
You may also want to look into Nokia's new phones (Nokia Lumia) which are rated well and I've heard good things from friends about them. Also, Nokia is known for its sturdy phones.
Android phones are also nice and are lower priced, but I've heard some don't last too long.
Either way I'd suggest looking at reviews for phones before you buy them.
Best of luck :)
