I really don't think there's much to it any more. I think everyone makes their own dream, and they can either succeed or fail wherever they are. I will say that some places really set it up to fail...

I tend to think that the American Dream is something that depends on the particular individual. For example as I was growing up, I always thought that in order for me to be able to achieve the American dream, I would get married and have a family of my own, a home that belonged to our family and a couple of pets. I have all of those things right now, but I still think that there are things that I need to strive for in my life.

The American Dream can be different things to different people. I think for most people it's having all your needs met (and maybe a bit more) without having to depend on others such as the government. Knowing that you have achieved success in life. For others the Dream is to become wealthy beyond their needs. Still others, it is to become rich and famous. I think for the most part, it's what you've achieved on your own.

American dream is all about migrating to America, getting a highly paid job there and living in American style.I don't have any such 'aspiration.'I am an Indian and want to live in my own country.I don't hate America or any other country in the world, but I want to live my life in my own country.I won't leave my country at any cost.I am happy here and I love my country more than I love myself and my family.

Hello Tushavi! First off, I have been watching a friend play Max Payne 3 and it is so awesome haha. I am going to try and get all the games and play them and hopefully complete it all 100%. Now as for "The American Dream", I have heard this saying so many times and I actually don't know. My guess is having a good job because I think some parts in America have great opportunities there. Not too sure though. Happy MyLotting. ~AussieGal~

One for many maybe having the freedom to worship as one pleases or not to worship. Another would be to be able to put your ideas into tangible things. You maybe living in a place where this is not possible.

The "American dream" would vary from person to person. Some say it is to have a good paying job along with a house, big yard and family. Others aren't interested in marriage or children. Maybe they just want the job and the house. Still others don't wish for a house because they'd rather spend their lives traveling one place to the next and making the world their home.

The American Dream, in it's simplest form, is having a job that can support one's family, a home, two vehicles, and 2.5 kids (an average). Over the years the dream has changed and has meant different things to different people. In some parts of the world the "American Dream" means freedom and opportunity. More than anything else, it represents opportunity to make what one wants out of their life. It most definitely doesn't mean you have to be a police man; it means you can be one if you choose to, and being able to pursue that dream. Does that make sense?

A lot of Filipinos have thought of achieving that "American Dream". It is obvious with the number of Overseas Filipino Workers now in different parts of the world. This "American Dream" they are referring to is being able to free their family from poverty and be able to fulfill a very comfortable life.

American Dream means the chance of making it big f - American Dream means the chance of making it big for everybody.
"American Dream", to me, means the chance of making it big even though you are a nobody or poor or disadvantaged if you work very hard. The point here is everyone is given a fair chance to compete and if you are good and work hard, you will make it someday, regardless of your race, religion or outlook, at least, that is the theory. Freedom to choose what you want to do. Freedom to choose the kind of life you want to live. That is America.
