Target is starting to be really stupid. I hope they start to realize what they are doing is the biggest mistake ever. So here's the deal this week and possibly next week, I'm only getting like 8 hours and yet I'm not the only person. The whole team is getting cut hours. Supposedly we aren't finishing the work, first they haven't given us time, but since we haven't been finishing the work they are taking our hours away. Really how is that going to solve anything. Are they really that stupid. If we're that bad just fire me. Anyway, why do I have to suffer or any one else have to suffer if there is only a small amount of people who are working to slow. Why do we have to pick up their slack. Then on top of that they hire one more person. We need more people. Target is an idiot right now or at least mine is. Okay cut our hours and what the work still won't get done and the work will just pile up even more. I don't know how true all this is, but I'm giving them 2 weeks 2 weeks to give me some decent hours or I guess I'm back to job searching. This is a rant and now rant over. Thanks everyone for listening.

Sounds idiotic. How can they want work done but cut hours? That is stupid! And only hiring one more person. They must be really in trouble if they are being so careful in just hiring one person at a time. That is what it sounds like to me. I would be looking elsewhere too. Sorry it didn't work out.

Yeah I wish it would had worked out too. But looks like it maybe time to move on. I hope I find something better. It sucks that some of us have to suffer and work double time because some people are just to slow.

And sometimes we get a bad rep because others are slow. I was thinking if they got alot of temps in for afew days, just caught up and then let them go you'd doing ok. But they probably don't want to do that and it might just be a temporary thing and then get behind again. Oh, well.

They actually even tried removing all the late work and we start over and we still couldn't finish. I don't know in my opinion, I think we need more people to work in one day. But I doubt they will do that.

That doesn't make sense, unless they're having a major shift in employees or they want to have one. If a person can't finish what they need too, it is because of lack of employees. Understaffing should have been the right answer here, unless they are seeing a pattern and everyone is getting docked hours to encourage them to quit. That is wrong in itself. People as a whole shouldn't be docked over a the few people that aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing. Makes now sense at all.

Exactly that is why I am so confused on what they are doing and my husband think it is more to it. But I think part of it is they want someone to quit. Which you are right that is just wrong period. I was discussing with another co-worker, if we are that bad, then why just wait for us to quit, just fire us. Pull those to the side who aren't doing well discuss with them. But they never do that they just take everyone in the room and talk to us as a whole. It can't be all of us who are equally bad. And I know that I myself is working as hard as I can, but I shouldn't have to work double time, because someone is taking their time when they know we have other work that has to be done. They just need more people and they already hired one person. And I think they should just have all of us work on the same days. There is four of us and I know with four people things can get done. But they don't want to do that, why? I have no idea. But it just seems like they want to just make things harder for us. And expect us to do it in a timely manner but there isn't enough of us working in one day. I hate to say it but now I'm feeling that I had it better at Wal Mart and Wal Mart is just as bad.

There could be more going on, legal issues or they fear unemployment would be drawn if they fire over a person who quits (think the waiting time is different to collect on between the two). This might be a temporary thing till whatever is really going on shakes out. At any rate, there is something going down. You don't just put impossible expectations on a people then expect a miracle.

I don't know what they were expecting any more. Because they fired me now so there is something else going on. I just started another discussion about what happened. And the reasons they gave was just not right.

I think they saw that cutting the ours will hlp them cut down expenses / or employee costs - but then they did this when things are not getting done in your place. So i thought this must be what they have studied, more times for everyone of you means more possible slacking hours as well. if they cut down the hours and there are so many things to get done - that means you all would try to finish as much as you want in the 8 hours given all of you because they would no longer pay for the extra time you stay in the place working. ;)

Of course, cutting hours and firing people is not the way to get the work done. Maybe they have other kind of problems which they don't want to say. And hiring one person sounds like if they only want to give a sample, to get the colleges frightened about how easy it is to loose the job. Many people, when they are frightened, work faster and harder, and more nowadays with the financial crisis all over the world. The surely know that is not easy to find another job. But anyway, the way they react obviously is not the right one.

It could be other reasons, I don't know but that was the excuse that was given to us. Things keep getting changed. One moment we were told that corporate was setting the hours another associate said that this happened before then the hours picked right back up. Now this. I don't know what's true any more.

Hi, Trisha! If you feel that you are no longer enjoying the job that you currently have, try searching for a new one which you think would make you become more productive. If that is the way how the company you work for goes now, I don't think people would stay and would work for them any longer.

Yeah I think I will start already to search for work. I was going to wait 2 weeks, but if that is how we will continuously get treated, I can't deal with that with wondering if I'll get hours or not. I have a feeling that everyone on the team is going to start leaving one by one. And then there will be no team. Which is how they started off with before they hired me and some other girl. There really wasn't a team. There was just one person doing all the work and to this day I don't see how he does it and then also he won't share what we can do to be better. Every day I asked him, hey will you help me so I can be better what can I do. But each and everytime he says okay and never does or he says you're already doing good enough. So I don't get it, and then this happens. So maybe it isn't my fault, but why do we all have to suffer? I can't deal with this anymore. I feel sorry for that guy, because he'll probably be working alone again, but I can't work like this. I have to find something else. And it sucks cause I really loved this job.
