All my friends know I traveled for 26 hours to reach home at 11pm of March 6th; since than I am sick, there is coughing; fever and my voice has become hoarse like a frog; I have taken honey with ginger; it works slowly.
I avoid antibiotics totally.
Earlier I used to travel for days together without any health issues but now those days are gone.
Does travel make you sick too?
How frequently you travel?
Did you ever have hoarse voice, any cure for it?
Are you in favor of herbal cures or anti-biotics.
Please respond and share your experience.
Thanks in advance. Professor Dr. B.Saraf. PhD.
Cheers have a lucky day ahead.
March 11th 2013.

I love traveling too, it is one thing I love doing. I'm imagine that when hubby and I grows old we'll be traveling more. I just hope too that God will provide for us. I have problems like that too after traveling and I blamed it all to the heat and less liquid in take.
I must suggest that you take a good rest and eat more veggies and drink more juices and eat more fruits so that your immune system will recover quickly.

i enjoy traveling. it does not matter on how many days should i travel. i experienced traveling way back ago riding a bus. it took two night and three days before reaching manila and going home from manila to mindanao. what i love doing this is that i can see different places and lovely scenic views unlike riding a plane or a ship. for me it is really enjoyable. and that if i will go to manila this summer, i will really prefer a landtrip and riding a bus for it. yahoo!
amhpt, i had a hoarse voice when during my practice teaching. i had mild sore throat during that time. yes, i am in favor of using herbal medicine rather using synthetic one. ginger is good for that and also citrus fruits. you can eat ginger like candy. you should try this one. apply liniments into your body to ease the muscle pains caused by your traveling. maybe you are sweating all badly and that sweat of yours drained or dried into your body. that is a very bad for your health. you should avoid your sweat in your shirt to dry into you body.
be safe please

The kids are given antibiotics right from the moment they are born, so they have to take whole life on slight illness.

I like to cut a fresh pineapple when I have throat problems and hoarseness. We also use an herb as a side dish or condiment that is helpful, it is called horseradish and it is hot and pungent, and for people who do not like its taste it is also good just to breathe it in.

My three year old daughter suffers travel sickness in a car and then she vomits. This has made her car seat very dirty and it has given us some miserable days out. Last summer we drove to a steam train station for the Thomas the Tank Engine Day Out. She vomited in the car park as me arrived. It was not an area with anywhere I could buy new cheap clothes for her. Another time on the way from our home to Glastonbury she vomited when I went right at a round about. We drove all the way from North Somerset to Cornwall. She was vomiting a number of times on our journey. It was lovely to visit the Eden Project on our way down there.
I was air sick once and had severe ear pain on the flight London to Tunisia with one stop in its capital city. It was a rough flight due to air turbulence. I prefer a non-stop flight that is direct. I like a smooth plane ride and plane rides can vary. I was sick on a ferry traveling from North Wales to the Republic of Ireland due to very high waves that were tossing in a dangerous way. All further sailings were canceled that day. I needed to stay overnight in Dublin. It was ever so interesting to see that capital city. Have a lovely day Professor 2010.

Dear max,
I know you travel lot, thanks for details, my grand daughter has this vomiting habit only if they travel by bus, so we give her Avomine tablet, before she rides a bus and also keeps some in her bag.

Unfortunately, our family doesn't have the opportunity to travel nearly as often as I would like to. The reason that this is the case is because of our family's financial situation. With that said, I've never been one of the people that tends to get sick when I travel. My cousin, on the other hand, would always develop a sinus infection when she would go back home after going to Ohio from Virginia to spend time with the family.

Hello professor. I cannot say that I have a weak body. But it seems to me that I get sick easily when I travel. I'm not really traveling far as the place I traveled to is only two hours max by flight. My body seems to need more time to adapt to different environment. When I do get sick, I would have hoarse voice. What I did was drinking a lot of water and try to do some exercises such as jogging. It seems to get better in just two or three days.

2 months ago, I traveled from the Philippines to live and move here in my husband's home in the US. It took me a total of 21 hours travel time, with a 10-hour layover somewhere in Malaysia. And let me tell you that it took me 3 days to recuperate from the jetlag and the colds that I caught during my travel. I would be happy if I wouldn't have to travel by plane for a while. It is just exhausting and dehydrating. I think if I didn't take some airborne I would have caught something worse than colds.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the details, recuperating from Jetleg is almost similar to recovering from a hangover after a heavy drink

I only got sick from travelling once in my life, when I was really really young! I did have a hoarse voice, but tea and honey helped me quite a lot. Anything with honey is great, and avoid cold beverages at all costs! In am in favor both of herbal cures and anti-biotics, but use the latter carefully and with moderation, of couse.

It is due to change of water , air and the travel tiredness.Professor! Keep drinking only hot water and gargle with saline water four times a day.If there is fever for more than a day, take antibiotics and do not allow infection to grow.We are not getting younger.
I feel very tired after travel and if it is continuous travel then it is worse.I need breaks periodically while travelling. In the winter months my tiredness is less compared to summer months.I never travel during summer as far as possible.

Hello Sir,
Usually train journey do not make me tired and I do enjoy it a lot. But long traveling in bus definitely makes me tired and sick.
I think the change of climate may affect you badly not the travel. I know you travelled in train and the cool in a/c coach may also have role. I guess it is hot climate in your place, sitting long time in a/c coach then travel in hot climate might have made you sick.
Herbal medicine is good for cough and related problems but it take time to cure. Gargling with lukewarm salt water give you quick relief.
Get well soon.

I don't get sick after travelling. I never did. And it is really very seldom that I get sick. I have to take care of myself or the kids would be really having a hard time to do things on their own especially in fixing breakfast every school day. We all grew up taking antibiotics when needed. But recently, I am trying to get my hands on herbal medicine. We have oregano in the other house and my husband would boil the leaves would make the kids take it. I think ginger ale would be a great help as well. And also, gargle with warm water with about half a teaspoon of salt. That would somehow help.

It is but natural as we go older our health deteriorated my only defense is for me to drink more warm water and take vitamins daily for my maintenance. Usually I don't drink too much water on travel. Twenty six days is too long I am sure it was by plane.
