Room For Rent

Coincidence? I was just reading about an American family living in a motel room in the same circumstances. They didn't have enough food to eat as it was, so cooking might have been rather a luxury to them. But, to the point, there are no children, no pets, no singles, no marrieds and many other restrictions - all over the world! No cooking is probably one of the least objectionable of them. It certainly isn't a perfect world!

that is more common then you think

Here many people can get a job offer working meals or even three meals, so they will like to rent a room for no cooking, usually with low rent. And also many white collars have to work overtime in the office, so they will not have enough time to prepare their meals, so no cooking is not a problem for them.

I was also looking for a room that allow me to cook cos sometimes I don't feel like to go outside only to buy food for lunch or dinner. I found some places which has low cost but they don't allow us to cook, I passed them. Now I found my room, we all shared the same kitchen but have to keep it clean because the owner has provided us all the kitchen stuff.

When my husband renting a room they do not also allowed them to cook because they afraid of fire instead they put a small canteen downstairs where they can eat or order food from them, i think the owner just wants to earn more from their tenants who have no choice but to buy food from them. But if you ask me, i will never rent a room where I can not cook at all because i preferred to eat my own cooking which is more healthy and safe to eat than to others.

Wow,this is crazy,even people do not willing to cook in house and eat out everyday,they still need to kitchen,and no room can delete the part of cooking,this is the basic part of a room.

"Why would anyone go for a room when your not allowed to cook at all?" 1. Not everyone knows how to or even wants to cook. 2. It's better than living on the street. 3. Maybe they just want a pied-à-terre.

I think if someone is renting a room , kitchen and bathroom facilities comes with it . It would not make any sense renting somewhere with no cooking are bathing facilities . There are plenty of places renting these days so only a few that dont want to be comfortable and have no clue to accept such terms would even remotely consider renting such place . Even if you cant cook you want to have access to fridge , microwave and sink .

It is possible for room owners to prohibit cooking in their rooms. I used to rent a room and I was not allowed to cook. If I wanted to cook I had to use the owner's kitchen. It is not funny at all that rooms are without cooking facilities.

Did they want know cooking at all like in the room or no cooking period, like you can't use the kitchen. That is interesting though, I have never come across something like that that you were allowed to use everything, but you can't cook. There are other ways of going around this though. When I went to school and we had no stoves or anything to use to cook in our dorms, I bought like a crock pot and cooked all kinds of stuff in that and also there was these little stoves that you could plug into the wall and I cooked that way. There are many ways around that. But it depends on if the owner does not want you to use their stove or they just don't want you cooking in your room. Either way I can see why they wouldn't want that. Because maybe before in the past they allowed people to cook on their stove and they made a mess and never cleaned after themselves. Or if you were to cook in your room, then they don't want you to cause a fire or anything like that. There is a reason for everything. But if that is something that you are not looking for then keep on searching hopefully you will find something. I can also understand why people on look for female renters or male renters. Because maybe the person looking for a female renter is a female and she would feel more comfortable living with a female and vice versa for the people that are only looking for male renters.

It wouldn't be easy for sure. A small picnic cooler could hold cold foods but would be limiting. I wonder if a person could stay healthy on veggies and cold meats? I know I don't always cook but it is by choice. A room like that would be very restrictive. There are other factors I am very concerned about, security, quiet, access to fresh air and overall comfort.

yeah, this is really ridiculous. not only can we not afford to eat out every day, but it takes a lot of effort to walk up or drive to a cafe or a hotel and it is kind of creepy to eat all alone. so i would not go to that kind of a room either. find some other place for yourself. good luck....!!! have a good day...!!!
