Rooms For Rent.

I have a room to rent in an SRO. Where I live, I have access to the kitchen. There are places that allow you to have a small refrigerator and a hot plate. I know there are those who do not like to cook or know how. At the same time, there are people who have limited income and cannot afford to eat out everyday. Not everyone is rich. Money does not grow on trees. When posting an ad that says "NO Cooking" You need to take into account that there are different levels of income. I don't know how many people, if any will respond to that ad, but considering that not everyone can afford to go out and that most people prefer cooking over spending money that they do not have just to eat out daily. If that person does not want cooking in their room that they are nice enough to rent out then say so. I know there are places that those who are homeless can go and eat. I want to save money over eating out and having to go to soup kitchens to eat. Most soup kitchens are not open everyday. I know there are soup kitchens that are open for dinner only. If your on a fixed income, would you go for a room where you cannot cook at all? How is that saving any money?

At least you have access to a kitchen. How on earth can you live without cooking.Eating out is pretty boring, everything with chips.I suppose you could put together a salad with cheese or something like that. What is an sro.Maybe it is the fire risk or if the electric is in the rent the landlord may not want a big bill.I did read that some one had to hide her washing machine just in case the landlord found it and put her rent up.Mind you some people who don't clear up the food could encourage mice and rats.I would hate to eat out everyday. At least when you cook your own food you know whats in it.I cook everyday for my family it is part of giving the right food to feel healthy and not get ill.

If I were a a busy person, yet receiving much from my employer, I would rather eat out all three meals and 2 snacks just to save time on cooking; saving it for rest and feel fresh doing my job.

I once rented a room during my college days, it has only a room and a common kitchen, if we want to cook. I just have to ask the permission of the owner so that I can cook.
