Where Do I Send My Details?

March 11, 2013 12:19pm CST
I received this beauty in my inbox today... It makes a refreshing change to be honest, I was getting bored of the poor Nigerian bird who had $95 Million she wanted to share. I have also got about $10 Million in a Columbian bank apparently - So as I post my bank details, they will send it to me... But you know, you start doing something and you forget don't you? Any this is a new one - I like the approach, however I think she may well be barking up the wrong tree. Anyone who has commented on my recent posts will see why. So here you go - Let this act as a warning, I would suspect that you will get one too A CONTRIBUTION FOR THE WORK OF GOD. My Lordship, Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I am (Mrs) Surat Shinawatra, a widow to Late Nishita Shinawatra, I am 74years old, I am now a new Christian convert, suffering from long time cancer of the breast, from all indications, that my condition is really deteriorating and is quite obvious that I won't live more than six months, because the cancer stage has gotten to a very bad stage. My late husband was killed his business associate, and during the period of our marriage we couldn't produce any child. My late husband was very wealthy and after his death, I inherited all his business and wealth. The doctor has advised me that I may not live for more than six months, so I now decided to divide part of this wealth, to contribute to the development of the church in Asia,Africa America and Europe. I selected your church after visiting the website and I prayed over it, I am willing to donate the sum of US$5,000 000.00(Five Million US Dollars) to your Church for the development of your church and also for the less privileged. Please I want you to note that, this fund is laying in a Bank here in Thailand, for that my lawyer will file in application for the transfer of the money in the name of your ministry. Lastly I honestly pray that this money when transferred will be used for the said purpose, because I have come to find out that wealth acquisition without Christ is vanity upon vanity. Please, do not reply me if you have the intention of using this fund for personal use, than enhancement of the comfort of the Handicapped .Lastly, I want you/your home to be praying for me as regards my entire life and my health because I have come to find out since my spiritual rebirth lately that wealth acquisition without God in one's life is vanity upon vanity.Alleluyah,If you have to die says the Lord, keep fit and I will give you the crown of life. Please If I reach you as I am hopeful I will, endeavor to get back to me as soon as possible to enable my LAWYER conclude the legal duty, you should forward along your current telephone and Fax numbers, your current mailing address. Also to be sent to me is the biodata page of your international passport or drivers licence as a proper identification. May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you.You can reach me on my alternative email box easily: mrs.suratshinawatra@yahoo.com I await your soonest reply as you could. Yours in Christ

I have had this one before. I just tell people all of my donations are local. Obviously some people bite on these or they would not keep going around.

About two years ago a friend of mine who has her own business so is supposed to know better, actually considered sending details to one of these scams. I really had to talk to her hard. But she was willing to take the risk as she needed money. I just didn't know that people could be guillable - but some are unfortuantely

I had something similar happen but on FB. I add folks without really checking them as good as I should, so I added this guy who said he was a convert from Hinduism to Christianity. Once a week or so we exchanged pleasantries on the chat feature while I browsed... Two weeks ago he tells me in most flowery way that his 9 yr. old son has been kidnapped by hindus and is being ransomed for $20,000 and he needs me to pray for the situation. He says the kidnappers won't settle for the $6000 (he has sold all he owns to get) and have given him a deadline or they will kill his son. So, like a good person would or should, I pray. And I give him some scriptural assurances God hears his prayers. I know some of you don't believe in prayer, but when I pray I usually get some sort of 'confirmation' that God hears... nothing I even posted in general terms on my status asking folks to pray for this man. Then for the next few days he messages me giving me up dates on how his wife is not holding up well and how the kidnappers are torturing his son, his son has fever etc. still, nothing in the way of confirmation (spiritual wise) and then a full week after the supposed deadline he gives me his bank info and almost demands I send him the balance needed, saying if I wish God to ever love me again I must do this. I have a balance of about $100 in my account so I tell him this and told him God indeed gives to those who need it...and turned off my chat option.

These kinds scams have been going on for years - I remember getting one of my first ones years ago... At the time money was tight and my two youngest were still babies - I am only a mere mortal and I must admit that for several days I was thinking "What If...." I didn't take it any further. I honestly do find these scams quite distasteful - I also find the preying on of devout people a very cheap way to scam people. It will rake in a lot of cash because of the nature of many people of faith.... Low move

These emails have been going around for years now. This is one of the funniest I have seen yet. Look, who needs that when you have MyLot. LOL. Hey Now!!! Just kidding. I guess they think people are stupid. Some are, I know that. But since these emails have been around for many years, you would think by now they would have come up with something totally different to screw people out of money with. Any time I see religious things, I automatically toss them away. Not for me. Now, that said, when are you expecting this money? LOL. Hey Now!!!!

I am sure it does for them. But I do feel bad for those that actually get caught up with them. I agree with Abe. He was a smart man.
16 Mar 13
As Abe Lincoln once said... You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. Millions and millions of these get sent out every year - With those kinds of delivery stats, a small return and gullible responses from around 0.01% of the people that received it makes the scheme a nice little earner
