I have been severely depressed years ago that I can't even look at myself in the mirror but I was able to overcome it.
But now, that I can call myself a grown-up lady, I still feel depressed every now and then. Maybe because of my job, family problems and etc.
But, unlike before, I can now somehow drive depression away. What do I do, you ask. Well, the words of God is very powerful than depression.
When I feel like I'm depressed. I just read bible verses and listen to Christian songs. They are soooooooo helpful! :)
I know you feel depressed too, so, what do you do about it? :)

It's good that you have overcome your severe depression. But while you are fighting it continuously, always remember that the Lord is above all things and that we only need to believe that He is sovereign, therefore, it is useless for us to worry. If you are asking God about something, be willing to accept that whatever the response is, favorable or not, it is okay, because the Lord knows what is best for us. He teaches us to obey Him no matter what. Only God can heal you from depression, as long as you let Him rule over your life. God bless you!
I see you are from Bislig, I have been to that place once when I was still in elementary. Have a good and fruitful day ahead!

When i have a big problem or feeling depressed , the first thing that i do is be in our bedroom, cry and pray. I would really talk to God and plead with HIM to easen out my load. In a little while i am okay and would suddenly be able to think how to go about it.

That's true. He never fails us. He may not give us answers as we desired and at our time, but he always gives in ways we can never fathom.

It is good that you have now found some way to drive your depression away. I do feel depressed most of the time too. It is due to many problems such as family issues, relationship and self dissatisfaction. I don't have any way to deal with it though. I just live with it and continue to do what I do everyday. Though I do notice when I do certain entertaining things such as watching movies and traveling, such depressions seems to go away for a while.

i experienced the same thing as you did before. i do not know what are the reasons behind why should i have to feel this way. the depression is killing me to loneliness. i want to cry but what for? during that time, i was scared that something bad might happened to any of my family because it served as a bad omen for me. what i did was, i prayed a lot and asked God for my wrong doings. i asked for guidance as well and take my loneliness away. and now, through God's powerful intercession, i am happy as i can be and i am improving myself as well. and one grace He had given me is this education for i will graduate this 25th day of March.
what i can say to you is that, do not mind your depression at all. i mean, when this one strikes you, pray to God like what you did. and after that, find a thing to do to entertain yourself. better for you to mingle with friends whom you trusted or with your family. this way, you can forget that you are depress. say it too, i can make it! be well

hi there, edsss17!
you are quite correct that the Word of God is powerful than depression. although i am not much into reading just verses, i read a chapter or two so that i won't take verses out of context. it is quite dangerous to read just verses.
for me, Christian songs are also helpful and also the instrumental ones. i also keep a journal to write down my prayers. :)
i look forward to more of your discussions here in myLot! happy myLotting!

There is no one in this world who are depressed for some or other reason. But after all this is life and we must fight back to solve the problems that arise in our life. Try to solve the problems by yourself or take the help of other family members or friends. Share your problems with others, that too if you have the confidence on that person and I am sure you will feel relaxed

I did that too and will still do the same thing if I feel depressed. Somehow it lightens me up and gives me hope when I listen to Christian songs, pray and go to church to hear words of God. It helped me a lot and it's really different when you are going through something, you really can feel every word the priest says, and every song and prayers will hit you and somehow gives you hope that things will be better.

I have days if depression every now and then, myself. Now I have the less frequently, because for once, everything seems in its place for me, in my life, but sometimes I can't help but feel demotivated and worthless and just don't wanna do anything. In these cases I would listen to music, go for a walk or watch a good film or read good books...

what a great way to deal with depression. It's such a great way, but hopefully it'll drive away your depression away completely without it coming back again.
