Travelling on a bus for 6 hours is fun with friends, but travelling alone is boring (~_~)
I walk down the bus aisle looking for seat number 34.
Fine, a lady occupied seat number 33.
The bus leave the station at 10am - a lazy cold and cloudy morning (fine day to travel)
An hour passed by and I fall asleep.
Blag!!!
Ouch
The lady banged her head on the seat in front of us (uh uh)
Her friends sitting in front asked if she's okay (hmnn, okay)
I fall asleep again.
Tok!!!!
OUCHHH!!!!! (`_`)
The lady knocked my head (she said sorry)
....I stay awake for the rest of the journey......
Next time I might pay for two seats to avoid such incident... (lols)
Have a great day dear Mylotters

Traveling by bus for a long journey can be a lot of fun to me, too. I remember going by bus. I don't remember the seat number. What I remember was that next to my seat was still not taken. Since I was too tired I did not mind who ever would take the seat. As soon as I was seated, I soon fell asleep. Suddenly I woke up as I felt a burden on my right shoulder. When I saw it, it was a head of a passenger sitting next to me. I just the head lean on me. She seemed tired and sleepy.

hello yanzalong (^_^)
It's fine for guys (I think) to allow a lady seatmate lean on his shoulder.
But it's too awkward for a woman to let a guy sleep on her shoulder.
Regarding my experience, it was a hard knock and geezzz, I feel afraid to fall asleep because my head hurts and I don't want it to happen again.
So, I stayed awake and keep an eye on her head who keeps dancing in every direction.
Have a great day

hello aejay (^_^)
Hahaha, you made me laugh as well but I might consider your suggestion.
Wearing a helmet is much better than buying two tickets (not bad idea my dear)
Indeed she's too clumsy, I wonder how she sleeps while on bed (hmnnn)
Thanks and have a great day

I too have a "bus experience" We travelled to Bukidnon for our community reach out of our university organization. And the house that we stayed is near the pineapple plantation. So we were able to bring pineapples when we returned home. And since we are in the plantation, we were able to choose the big ones. We placed the pineapples in the plastic bag and placed it on the baggage room the one you can see on top of the passengers' seats.
The trip was somehow bumpy. along the way, one pineapple fell from the plastic and it fell right on the head of a lady. I know how painful it was because aside from the thorny surface of the pineapple, it was also heavy. Good that we already took out the crown. Because of fear, we did not claimed that it was ours. How bad are we that time... and a few kilometers after that, the canned goods of the lady also fell down and hit one of our colleagues. We just laughed out because we think it was just a revenge.

Hi jai
Happy to see you here again!
From what I can understand here is that the same lady has been banging her head to you and her friend. LoL! Is she also sleeping? I can imagine how it feels when you suddenly knocked your head on someone.. that hurts, really!
Where are you heading, jai? You seem to be travelling a lot huh. Take care and enjoy the trip.

Haha, that is just the kind of experience one can expect when traveling alone without someone to surely occupy the seat beside you. I do travel a lot sometimes through express bus or coach and flight. So sometimes I will be traveling with my girlfriend yet sometimes alone. So whenever my girlfriend is sitting beside me, the most would happen was her head falling on my shoulder which was quite a sweet experience.
On the other hand, when it was someone else sitting beside me, I saw most of them hitting their heads here and there while I tried my best to stay away from them.

Exactly, that's one thing to expect when sitting with a stranger while travelling.
I seldom travel alone and I can say that this is my first time to experienced a clumsy seatmate.
Thanks for your comment and have a great day

Hi Jai!
You see it is all because you fell asleep. ........ LoL!
Had you remained awake through out the journey, you would not have allowed the other lady to bang her head on you. You would have got alerted and prevented her head knocking you.
Next time it would be better to remain awake instead of spending amount on buying two tickets......lol!

Glad to see you my dear :)
Oh well, buying two ticket is too expensive but still it's the best way to avoid such incident.
Besides, if ever I saw a handsome guy on board I might offer him the other seat for free
Thanks for your suggestion and have a great day always

That must have been an awful bus trip for 6 hours with the other passenger banging your head. It is a good idea to pay for two seats in order to avoid such a nasty incident. There is little personal place on bus seats in my experience.
I traveled on a plane in Colombia from its capital city to the coastline. A man's bag fell on my foot and hurt it. I spent my trip limping around due to that incident. Last year I traveled again to other countries in South America. My kids and I spent a lot of time on long distance buses overnight. On one of them we had a rough night traveling across Argentina. Then we got to ride on the upper deck on a coach. The views of the mountains were lovely.
Our next trip will be by train across to Eastern Europe. The highlights of our trip will be the Ukraine and Moldova. We will be sleeping in 2 bunk compartments on the trains. I am so excited about our departure in May. We will have more room that if we went on a train, bus or a coach. Good luck on your next trip.

I am happy you are back after enjoying the trip, i and kalyani too are back.
Thanks for sharing the story, in bus journey particularly long and over night journey it is so common; long back say 45 years ago, i was travelling by bus to Berhampur, a lady same age as me sat in the adjacent seat of the twin seat; after half an hour she kept banging her head on my head and shoulder; lastly she kept her head on my lap and slept; said she was too tired
Hugs from Papa

Good, you both didn't had a fight, thinking on who will start first! Yes, now I just thought of those days where I used to travel for 24 hrs. to reach my native village from my work place by bus. When the train tickets were not available, we had to depend on the buses (long trip) and the day-night travel of those days were really painful. However, I really enjoyed a speical trip as the co-seater was a women! No, I am decent and I could't sleep well as I had a feeling that I may hit her and she slept well and mine, mmmm.. We become friends by next day and when we are more close, it was time to part and never had a chance to meet or talk, really a nice girl...

hello thanks (^_^)
Glad to see you again.
Oh well, I don't like travelling alone for long trips but I had no choice since it's an urgent.
I came back home with my kids the other week but soon as we arrived home I received a call from my sister (back in my hometown) so the following day I catch up a bus.
Maybe next time I will pay for two seats (that's the best thing)
Uh, I don't mind sitting with a girl or a guy- but falling such incident is what I want to avoid.
I know we cannot avoid falling asleep while travelling especially for long trips- and that's what I hate the most...a seat mate falling asleep and knock my head or sleep on my shoulder

So how did she knocked on your head this time Jaiho?
Incidents like this is but natural on buses. That's because if you are by the aisle area, someone passing by could indeed hit you in one way or another.
It's a good thing that a big bus didn't fell on you while you were fast asleep.

hello D,
There's no problem with people passing by the aisle.
The problem is with my seatmate (huhuhu)
She's been sleeping the whole trip and keep banging her head here and there.
I wonder why she's doing such- the trip is too smooth but she keeps dancing (lols)
It's either I will buy two tickets or drive if I travel alone next time
Have a great day my dear

I assume her friends already told her, but it might be her sleeping habit.
That maybe the reason why no one among her friends wants to sit beside her.

You are so kind jaiho. If that happens to me, i would surely awaken her to tell her that she is banging her head here and there, so much so that she bangs at me also.
She should know so she could control her head.

Miss a lot of your discussion ma'm (^_^)
I will try to catch with those ones (discussions)
Regarding the trip, that was one of the worst trip I ever had.
Usually I don't sleep on buses, but for long trips I can't avoid taking a nap (to relax)
I can't understand why the lady keeps banging her head- the road is not bumpy and the trip is too smooth to make such movement.
I will surely buy two tickets next time....especially on a night trip.
Have a great day ma'm

Hi,
You are right. Traveling alone by bus is really a boring. But I have to travel many times alone. So I have this experience of banging head of a passenger many times. But it is very annoying experience. As you said it would be better for us to buy two tickets every time.

Well, it's charged to experience so next time I consider buying two tickets if I want to have a comfortable trip :)
Thanks and have a great day
