I notice kids these days are stuck in house playing with their x-box,playsations, and computer games...why do kids these days are different from the old timers who use to had fun climbing tree, swimming in the river, cycling around the neighbourhood, and playing sports.

I remember the days that I could not wait to get out of the house and play out side the days of yester year are long gone it is sad that our kids get away with sitting around and get all heavy weight because they sit in play games and eat junk food

When I was a child my sister and I went with our friends around the neighborhood on bikes. We had fun climbing trees and running on grass. One of my secondary school friends looked aged 7 however she was really 14 years old. She was cycling alone and a man stopped a car next to her. That man tried to grab her but failed. My friend told her mom and the police came to talk to them. Sadly I don't think the police managed to catch that man.
These days traffic is busy and some nasty people are around. Parents worry about a criminal taking their child or the children getting run over. I take my 3 year old daughter out on a bike ride staying close to her for safety reasons. Also in the current time technology is advanced and kids have amazing electrical products. Children have an x-box, a play station and a computer with games. Some young children spend a lot of time indoors watching television.
In my home country the weather is often dull and cool. This can apply even in the summer months. This current weather is bitterly cold with a wickedly strong wind. Some snow flakes have been falling however it is not going to be settle I think. I live 3 to 4 miles from the coast and rarely the weather is good enough for children to enjoy playing on the beach. There is sinking mud and a dangerous tide.

More than likely, I will get a lot of flak..for my response! As a child...the great outdoors was our "hi-tech" playground! We ate, slept, and prayed in the confines of the house (course cleansed our bodies, as well as our souls..there, too!) We played in the cold, the heat..got absolutely filthy..and had a WONDERFUL immunity system (I believe because were exposed!) We were NEVER baby-sat by a T.V. or entertained by an X-box...we made our entertainment, be what it may, got scrapes and bruises, broken bones..and hurt feelings! We could and did survive, happily! A Soda Pop or a Chocolate Bar was something you had once a year...and savoured! Parents are far too busy today, with distractions, when the focus should be on the family, as a unit! This is a huge topic, with me...and yes, I had a child...an OUTDOOR child, whom NOW as an adult spends every waking moment he can...camping, hunting, fishing, dirt-biking, baseball, soccer, etc., and really getting the fullest of life, in his soul!

It happen to my little cousin. He sometimes go out after lunch to play around the neighbourhood but after some time he will come home with couples of friend and they will play playstation for hours. And when its weekend he will reserved the TV 1 night before to play game whole day. When I was a kid I will climb a tree with my friends and brtohers, we go for fishing, flying kites, marbles, jumping rope and etc, nowadays kids are pampered with the technology and many of them does not know the traditional game that I used to play when I was a kid.
