I wonder what the reason people use animal names to make fun of people when the animal is better than what you are calling the person and meaning of the name. Like when someone calls someone a b@tch it's just a female dog and dogs are sweet cute nice friendly loving. So why does the word b!tch mean something bad? When someone calls someone an a@@ it us just meaning donkey. I mean i know it can mean butt as well but it is also an animal that is cute sweet and you can ride them or have them carry things for you. So what i don'y understand is the reason people use animal names such as these to call someone a bad name or mean something bad when the animal isn't as bad as the person you are calling these names. Or how about when someone calls you chicken meaning your scared. Now chickens may be scared of everything i do not know but it is still calling someone a name and meaning something bad when chickens the animal isn't all that bad. So where did this all come from calling people by animal names and what's the reason for it.

This is something that I've wondered about in the past as well and I'd never been able to come up with a reason that it is offensive. That is until very recently when I've been reading a book about animal research and it has suddenly become more clear to me.
I think that the reason that calling people animal names is offensive is because of the fact that there are a lot of people in the world that do not view animals as being equal to humans and thus when you call someone an animal name you are saying that they are less than human.

In my opinion every animal is superior to humans. I would any day prefer animal company to most humans who are time servers.

I call my grumpy brother in law as "BULLDOG"! Well, it's because he breeds different kinds of bulldogs and he has this temper that I hate! So people around me has gotten used to call him that behind his back.
