It came out of nowhere!!

We'd been having some nice weather for a couple of days. We usually have cold winters here in central NY.. but the past few days were in the 50's, although yesterday was a bit chillier with some rain. Today didn't seem too bad.. but chilly still, but not freezing. I went out to run some errands and just got home.. it seemed calm and quiet, although cold. I just look out my window and there's a blizzard out there! Snow so thick you can barely see across the street. It's coming down so fast, it's already sticking to the ground and you can't see the grass anymore.. although as of this morning most of our old snow had already melted.. except in places it was piled up from shovelling/plowing.. or in places that didn't get much sun. Have you ever heard the old saying "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, it will change"? That is certainly true around here today!

This saying is actually very apt at where I am. Being near the Pacific Ocean, and just a few miles to ski resorts, our weather here changes really rapidly. We do get the rain a lot, but at these times there could be snow, hail, wind storm, etc. That's why everybody here talks about the weather. I hope that the blizzard didn't dampen your weekend so much.

Yeah we have that happen every now and then. We had weather in the seventies at the end of last week, then snow and ice on Sunday. Yuck. Of course, I would rather it happen now than further into spring. My daughter has told her girls they may be hunting eggs in the snow this year, she lives in Minneapolis. The people they celebrate with have a swimming pool and I swear that at least one year they swam at Easter.

Yep.. I remember some years it being warm enough to swim before Memorial Day.. and some years there was snow on Mother's Day!

That is definitely a saying that I've heard several times and it is a saying that I think fits perfectly for Kentucky. The reason that I say that is that we might have a day that is 70 degrees and then we might end up with three inches of snow the next day. We've actually had one of those types of weeks where one day it was nice and warm and the kids were outside playing and then the next day we ended up with enough snow that they ended up closing school because of the weather.

Though i truly sympathize with you. I can honestly say i have never really had a day that you have just described. You see i live in the south. And today i woke up to temps in the 30s and now at 1:30 in the afternoon it is 76. I have wished of waking up to snow but in my 33 years that has never happened..

I think the weather has been strange this year. I am in FL and it didn't even get cold here until the end of January. After a few weeks of being cooler the forecast was it was already going to start warming up. It has been cool for the most part since then. We are actually having a cold front right now. Friday it is supposed to be in the upper 40's at night. The snow must be nice though...I have never seen it personally.

Your saying at the end is very right. I have also witnessed some incidents like those or even l think every human being has been through such incidence. So wait and watch the surprizes and color of mother nature. Happy mylotting.

Not with snow, but the rain surprised me this morning. It's been so hot and sunny all week. Even last night, it was warm when I went to bed. I felt some chills in early morning and had to pull up my thicker blanket. And when I woke up, all the summer weather feelings has suddenly changed to a cool, breezy, and rainy fall weather. Perhaps not literally as fast as the blizzard that happened around you there today. But the overnight change still caught me by surprise; I was not sure if I should start wearing my sweater or not this morning...

It's true. It happen here, even though there is no snow in my country but it happen here with the rain. Sometimes the sun is burning even we feel the heat in an air conditioning room. Sky is clear and the sun is burning no warning, no sign suddenly rain pouring like God feel sorry for the sun have burned us for hours. And sometimes the rain also stop in a minute and the sun back on it's throne like nothing happen

Haven't heard of that saying but there is the old one where someone "changes their mind like the weather". Its the same principle, the weather can indeed change rapidly sometimes. We had that a couple of days ago when it started snowing. I sit down in my room for 10 to 15 minutes, then I get up, look out the window and the whole place is covered in snow.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. Just this morning, we were having 21 and the wind is blowing making it even more nippy. But this noon, were now on 56. I hope this good weather continues for the rest of the week. But at the rate of it changing just like that, I guess I can only just hope.
