I’m about to leave for work this morning but couldn’t leave coz I realized I lost my NOL card (it’s a smart card we use here when riding busses and trains) which still got a load of 60 dhs (Php 660 or USD 16.50) that I can still use for half month transpo. 
So I ended up walking going for work – but I need to still go to bank to deposit a cheque before 9 AM. While, walking towards the bank, I felt something on my arms. When I checked - it was pigeon’s poop! Great, huh! LoL! Bad, bad day!
Thankfully, with all interruptions I still managed to reach the cheque deposit machine and the deposit slip was marked 8:59 AM. Whoaw! I came late for work but that’s not a problem, they know I have work outside sometimes.

It could have been worse. But I am glad that something did go your way and you should realize that when the days are tough, you stand up tougher and that is what makes you more dearly and someone I look up to.
And hey, Friday is just tomorrow which means you are going to have a day off. btw, did you lodge a complaint of the loss of your NOL Card yet? I think you should do it out sooner.

This has GOT TO BE my DAY...both my extended family back to back on the first page...almost like we are having morning Coffee together (at least for me..as it is coffee time)? I am assuming a NOL card is like what we call a Bus Pass! Sure glad I don't have one, as it would always be in a "safe place"....SAFE from me finding it! No buses here...no taxii's..no public transport...so En, we get our morning exercise just like you did!

I didn’t lodge a complaint. There is no way I can get it back as I own a silver Nol card that doesn’t have any owner’s identification. It’s just sad because I have that same card many years ago when they first introduced smart cards here.

Yes, virtual mom, it is a bus and metro train pass which was with me for 4 years or more. That;s one thing, exercise in the morning. And I think I’ll be walking home after work too.

I know what you feel like. I've had days like that before, where nothing goes your way and you feel like life is doing something deliberately to make things worse. I just find myself looking forward to the end of the day in those situations and tell myself that since tomorrow is a new day it will most likely be better than this one. I'm glad to hear that you were able to pull through though.

Nope, actually that was Thursday the 14th.
I don't believe in Friday the 13th bringing bad luck. But if it fell on that day I might start wondering if it's true or not.

Hi there yanzalong,
No there was no machines or even manual DTR to record our attendance. We are very few in this office so we all notice the absence of anyone. The one keeping track of our attendance is the accountant and my boss (if the accountant is not there). And when we are late, we usually have official work outside.

That’s really funny! Can’t help but smile here while reading your comment.
I just hope I wouldn’t catch another animal’s poop haha! It was a good thing I have wet wipes in my bag – but it’s a wipe that only we girls used. 
I hesitated to take it out from my bag. But I got no other option. Otherwise I’d be going inside the bank and also walking the street to office with poopies on my arms.

When already at my desk today, there was just this one person who pissed me off. But that is nothing. I guess it is that person's attitude problem. It went well as I can easily adjust with people's behavior at work now unlike before.
Probably - just not my morning. Rest of the day goes smooth. All work is done well.

OMG...dear En, I hope your life isn't like mine! If the day starts out as a Black Cloud day...bad things usually come in three's, so I am hoping NOT for you! I guess you are right, it isn’t a bad day after all because I had it deposited on time! Although there was one person who pissed me off a little. There were no major troubles. So far, work and people around me is okay too. I just hope not to be pooped on by pigeons again First time for me! hope no more second time.

Yaiks! a splat on my arms is just fine, but on top of my head?!? LoL! It wouldn't be easy if I'm outside alone. And if I wipe it out I am sure I won't clean it off well.
I'm using the card daily. Morning and evening. It was on the pocket on my yellow bag that I used yesterday. I last used it when I get off the bus. Put it in there in the pocket while I was walking. I am sure it was inside. Or maybe, I didn't noticed it slipped out.

Well yeah that's fine. There are bad days. There are good too.
I have no problem being late as it was not that strict in my office.
Just losing my card is what I was thinking of. Anyways, I have bought a new one already just this evening.

By the way, I heard my nanny telling me that when a bird poops on you, it should bring you good luck. Am not sure where that come from. But I do hope that your bad luck stops there.

I assume you're in Dubai now, I worked there for a year before I got married. How's the weather? Good thing you were able to walk, must have been not that hot, I guess. And bird poop isn't too bad, at least that's what other people say. That bird poop is supposed to bring you good luck. How or why when it stinks and full of bacteria is beyond me.
