don't know what to choose for a place to work.

I'm a third year university student and I've applied to two places. Job nr.1 One place is a financial corporation with a steady pay and working from 7-15. Now, I study economics and I'm interested in financial instruments and trading. The position at this job (job nr.1) is derivatives administrator. Its a 7 am to 3 pm job and it starts in July. I've already had my second interview and they want to take me. Job nr.2 The second job I've applied to is in a smaller trading firm, I expect the salary will be similar, except as a stock trader I also get bonuses depending on how I perform. This is my ideal job. The only thing is I have an interview on the 20th March and don't know if I will get accepted yet whereas with job nr.1 I know I will. Also if I do get accepted I will need a few months training as a trader. They say the training is free meaning that I don't have to pay for it, but I also don't get paid while doing training. I will only be hired if I'm able to earn a certain amount by trading stock, this means buying them and then selling them at a higher price. So basically I probably wouldn't be getting paid until like after 3 months of training (they say that's the average time it takes), but this is exactly the type of job I want. I don't know which one to pick, should I wait to see if I can get accepted as a trainee at the trading firm or should I just go for the job at the big corporation, it does have something to do with financial instrument but it just isn't exactly what I want. I just know that if I wait too long for the trading job I will risk losing the job at the corporation. What do you think?

You should take the job, that you really want,if you want the 2nd job, at the training firm, then that is the job, you should wait to get, if you take the 1st job and that is not what you want, then when you work there, you won't be happy, and you are not going to do you best work there.

You have point. I don't want to be stuck with a job that I'm not going to enjoy or even hate. I don't know what the salary is but I think I'd even be willing to earn a little less at the beginning but work in a place that I know I'll want to stay for a longer period of time rather than just quit after a few months.

If you think you can reach the target on during the training months, May be the 2nd job is suits you as it's your dream job. But you have to think carefully about this matter. But if I were you I will choose the 1st job, why? because it's a big company and I can learn lot of thing from big company and I don't have to be through the training months without payment.

you have a point there, I can still learn something from that job and the information and abilities I acquire might prove valuable. Plus even if I don't stay there forever, which I most likely won't, it will be something interesting to go on my cv for my next job.
