Nowadays, teenagers are posting some inappropriate pictures on social media websites. In my opinion, social media owners and operators should not allow posting this inappropriate pictures online. I also think the parents or guardians are also responsible. Please give your opinion

I would agree that the websites should have restrictions on what is posted on their site, but it would be unfair to apportion much blame to the sites themselves. Considering that some social sites have millions of members, many of whom post several pictures per day on their allotted pages, it must be a formidable task to try to police such an environment.

I also agree, but with say fb. They need so many people to help go through all posts.

Teenagers think it's a hip or a cool trend to post inappropriate pictures of themselves. Sometimes they post pictures of themselves like that is probably that they are insecure about themselves so they need some "perverts" online to praise them and give them the attention they want.

They can't exactly detect when someone uploads something inappropriate. That's why they have report links so that we can bring these things to their attention. Parents need to keep up with what their teens are doing online and demand that they either use commons sense or they can wait til they're 40 before they ever access the internet again.

I truly believe that these websites should block this from happening completely. When someone is about to send such a inappropriate picture a box should appear that says "YOU ARE BlOCKED FROM SENDING" then this will stop these kids from doing such a thing. I just don't understand where kids think this is ok to do. Where does such behavior come from? I can't imagine ever even taking a picture like this but then sharing it with the world. Morals have certainly gone out the window.

because we are not old, stupid, sick, arguing and disgusting like all of you and yeah the only way to block these type of photos is by a software but how can a software able to judge which photo is good or which one is not because it can't see the photo and think only human can do this.

No way for my future kids if I am successful in getting a husband then. This is really immoral for the kids and teenagers. Even parents can't control them, they are everywhere doing nasty things too. I hope they can be sent to police if they are underage for doing so.

I wonder about this as it is big in my country now. How can they have such little respect for themselves?

hi,
i also think that there should be some censorship for posting photos on social websites. Inappropriate photos should not be posted on social websites. I think parents or guardians can not control it. How can they come to know that what their teenagers are doing on social websites.

Precisely. The teens aren't exactly going to do it in front of their parents are they? There has to be censorship

Seems there is, but its so hard to control. Like fb with billions of accts.

How can a website detect the tone of a picture?
Have someone going through every single picture?
Granted, parent could do more... if the know about the accounts.
Twitter is littered with 13, 14 and 15 year olds posting photos in various states of undress. Twitter can be accessed from a smartphone and it is very easy to have multiple accounts.
I honestly can't see the point - The classic mirror shot of a teenager that barely eats in their underwear?
What is all that about?
That isn't attractive - they look ridiculous.
So what do we want?
Internet censorship or an acceptance that the World is full of idiots?

A very good point Rob. We complain if censorship is introduced that limits our own enjoyment, but shout and complain if others are allowed to behave in a manner that we do not approve of. As you say, we must simply accept that the world is full of idiots.

a person who post something when he/she does't have any problem so why other have it. its there life why not let them enjoy it as the way they want it to.

Not just teenagers, either. I think a lot of people leave themselves out there in ways they shouldn't. What happens on Facebook doesn't stay on Facebook. People should never put anything on Facebook that they don't want seen elsewhere. Ever.
Even if you think you have restricrted things to your friends list, sadly sometimes even friends or THEIR friends will steal or spread material from Facebook.

Parents ot guardians are responsible for whatever inappropriate behavior their children are doing. Although teenagers can think and already have a mind on their own, parents should still guide their children and hone them in becoming better individuals. How their children behaves is a reflection of how they are as parents.
Also, social media owners should review and struck down inappropriate pictures circulating in their sites. It may be tedious but its better than promoting somerthing negative which the younger generation might imitate.
But that's just my opinion :)

You have made some really good points here. Parents must take control and let their teenagers know that they will check their pc;s and find out what they are doing. There has to be a dual approach

This is so true. It's hard to keep track of what's happening in the internet, but there really should be some more stringent ways of keeping this issue in check. If everyone contributes enough effort though (wishful thinking, I know!) then maybe this problem might be eradicated.

Preteen stage is the most delicate stage for a person. All the innermost desires easily burst forth like a flood and what's worse is that something like social networking sites are coincidentally there to help them with their crazy ideas. I can only shake my head as to what the world has become because of the misuse of technology...

hi momworker my opinion is that parents are responsible on the net it would be almost impossible to stop all that crud that goes through. its too bad but there it is. I know a lot of sites do try to police the pictures but its hard when so many are on the net at all times.

Teenagers don't think about that stuff seriously. They only post and not think about their social responsibility. They could get in trouble for the inappropriate pictures they post.

Parents and guardians are also responsible because they do not check what their children are doing in social media but allow them to use those websites. Social media owners can't check millions of photos and they always get abuse reports but all this do not stop.

Sadly that is true and I partly blame the parents, they are the ones who raise their children. Unfortunately, social media cannot control the operations.
Possible reasons why teenagers post inappropriate pictures on social media it to gain attention. Another is because of peer pressure, they see their friends post some picture so they feel left out if they don't also do it.

Some social media websites ha capability of tracking inappropriate pictures, some websites don't. Teenagers this day, yeah they become more liberated. Sometimes it doesn't deal with parents or guardians, it depends on them. Even if you are as strict as you can imagine, they still have their own thinking. They can only understand it when they already had children of their own.

Talking of posting inappropriate pictures, it seem to be what is in vogue for some not so good adolescents. I will also like to emphasis that some people bent on tarnishing the image of others go through people's profile and maneuvre it and most time are the ones responsible for this act.
