Your opinion on song cover on youtube?

We can find many kinds of videos in YouTube. One of the kind of videos I came across is song cover. A song cover is someone else singing the song of the original singer and posted it on YouTube to share it with other people. I like to listen to other people's cover on songs. Some of them sings really good, even better than the original singer at times if not equal. While some of them sings quite badly, yet I appreciate the fact that they have the courage to share it. 
I like Yui Yoshioka a lot. So I came across a YouTube member named CatswillRule. She did some cover on several of Yui's songs. I think she is singing just as good as Yui in her own sense of cuteness.
So have you come across some song covers people made? What do you think of them?

Youtube covers are great, in fact that are entertaining and unique most especially putting a new vibe from the original music content.
It's also a great way of endorsing new talents and eventually making them into the mainstream.

I agree that PSY from South Korea is now popular with people all over the world. You can find his video there. Now he is a celebrity in the mainstream society to some degree.

Speaking of youtube, I feel very sorry that I cannot log in any longer although I have an account. It is years since I last logged in. I love it so much as we can find any information from it. I hope that we can use it again some day soon.

I don't usually spend a lot of time on YouTube. But I have seen of a few good cover recommendations from friends. That's only when I get to listen to them. I remember Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know did get a lot of covers lol. Two of my favourites are Mike Tompkins and Pomplamoose.

Youtube covers can be great, or they can be horrible. Like you said, it takes a certain courage to post a cover. I have come across some covers that were better than the original. One youtube artist who does a lot of great covers is Noah Guthrie (only1noah on youtube). His voice is incredible and he covers a lot of cool different songs.
