Yes, writing more does help you improve... but only if you try to learn.
To really improve, you also need feedback and corrections. While it's possible to improve on your own, it's so much easier if you have an editor/coach who corrects, comments and explains why your writing is good or bad.
Of course, either way it takes time, effort and energy!

Thanks spike for your nice comment. I understand why I have not improved my English although I am writing since last 2 year. I am just moving with out any coach and correction.

Kind words!
As it happens, the writing apprenticeships idea is struggling at the moment due to a lack of commitment from the people involved. Rather disappointing to try to help people who can't be bothered to put energy into it.
And I really must update the blog and get back to that... I've been away doing other stuff far too long.

Good writers can enjoy writing for these sites because they get paid and their reputation grows. If they are good people want to hire their skills. Very soon they become freelance writers who make money at their own speed.

Hi Sonusd, your writing style will definitely change as you write.
You will learn to write things that can get you more money, or write according to the needs of the employers.
It does not mean that your writing standard will improve.
It just means that your writing technique will change.
You will write faster, and write in a way that online writers want.

Actually practice makes perfect but I think that the main reason that you can improve is to learn more and study the way good writers do. I don't think that joining sites to write articles will be the only solution for you to improve since most of these writing sites accept writers who can meet their criteria and passed their test.
You can learn more to correct yourself if someone will also proof read your writings and by having some tools here online that you can use to correct your grammar.

We should not stop learning. Yes, feedback from others can be of great help. We should not be contented on our present performance. We should always aim for the better. This way we can say that we are improving.
Have a great day!

As the saying goes, "practice makes perfect," and just like one of the discussants said, you should be open for corrections and learning. You need someone who can correct your work so you can have some improvements. Reading a lot of materials also gives way for you to have more input to share in your writing.

I love writing since I was in elementary but I always thought I needed improvement. I was glad to be able to practice it in small ways in the past in my previous jobs. All of us were required to submit an article for the newsletter. I think it helped all of us in the company to be able to improve our writing.

Just writing articles may not improve the writing. Also it is important learn to write for a target audience in mind. I personally feel it takes really long time and efforts to learn decent writing skills especially if the language is not your native one. Also writing in lucid and simple manner is more difficult to master. I have come to realize that just reading books or articles on how to improve writing is not helpful. Similarly just keep on writing articles does not help. Since each person would have different strengths and weaknesses, method for improving writing skill also will be different for each person.
I want to ask a related question here. Does any online course will help in improving general writing skills? If yes, anyone knows about any such course?

Hi sonusd Oh for sure I think the more writing we do the better we become, I also find it helps with spelling, I am forever looking at my dictionary which I cannot believe I use to be a really good speller so like anything the more we do the more we improve.
