While Indian women have beautiful features, their bodies are completely untoned. The concept of working out doesn't exist for most Indian women.
As for their way of dressing, it covers almost every square inch of their body (except their face and lower arms). The saree is a long, long piece of cloth wrapped around the woman several times. And the woman wears studd beneath it too. Most Indian men find Indian women's dress sense good only becuase it's conservative. Indian women look better in a saree mainly coz it covers more of their body. Most of them are bottom heavy. You can't blame them though. It's not just the genetics, but society in general that forces them to sit at home for most of the day as housewives. Lack of activity and an oily diet leads to increased fat reserves. This is why the ocncept of female beauty in India revolves so heavily around the face.
The image included along with this message shows us what traditional Indian sarees look like.

Your knowledge of Indian women is very limited and I think restricted to fat ladies of high society or middle class.Have you ever visited any vilage I have. And I have seen girls and women so beautiful that Aishwarya Rai looks fake before them. And where in the world do you not find obese ladies or gents for that matter.Do not generalise anything on basis of limited knowledge. And I think women of India should be proud to wear sarees as its a traditional dress.Look at west they also wear traditional dresses and do not change simply because world is changing. In India women believe the beauty lies in the mystery not in exposure.Never judge a book from its cover.

While I agree that there are obese people everywhere, it's not the bodyweight but the PROPORTIONS that are broader in Indian women. Regardless of the same, it is a known fact that Indian women are not as social and outgoing as their european and american counterparts. It's all right to be conservative. It's a different thing to be near-antisocial to strangers. Indian women seem to look at any stranger, especially male. with deep suspicion. This again has exception, but a large majority of Indian women distrust a male stranger. Due to this, they seem unapproachable and antisocial as compared to women from other parts of the world. Their traditional dress represents their traditional beliefs.

Aishwarya Rai DOES look amazing. However, this is the exception, not the rule. Moreover, it's not about how Indian women look... it's about how they think.. and how their dress sense reflects that. Oh and this message was in response to someone who wanted to know what sarees were and what they looked like. Hence the sudden post :P
