Gym Instructor Dilemma

I was just in a conversation with a fat friend. He knows that I was on a diet, I was cutting off food. He told me that he needs to lose 40lbs in a week, and asked me what to cut off. I told him "Cut off one of your arms." A lot of people don't know anything about dieting. Losing 1 lb in one week is pretty hard already, what more if it's 40 lbs.. I asked him why he needs to lose that much weight in a week. He told me "Yeah, well her gym instructor was kinda hitting on her, and I wanna show up there looking like Vin Deisel or something." just to intimidate the instructor. A little question for the girls: Do you get that excited seeing a gym-fit guy? Does it matter? So I told him "Dude, your girlfriend is a s1ut." (She has always been) "..her legs are like Taylor Swift's song... they're never getting back together." How are you giving advise to your friends? Are you straight forward? Or do you beat around the bush?

frontvisions101 Wow it's amazing that anyone actually thinks they can lose 40 pounds in one week. I watch the Biggest Loser and am shocked to see some lose 2 figure amounts but no one gets near 40 in one week.

i understand your frustrations. sometimes people just make you want to scream at them of how stupid they can be. we must have patience with people though. we have no choice. we can't go around hurting people's feelings. maybe you could advise your friend that loosing 40lbs in a week is not only impossible, but unhealthy to a dangerous point. only do it in a diplomatic way.

Yeah. Well, he's used to advise like that so he doesn't mind the harshness, I'm sure. I was actually asking how you give your advise to your friends..
