Has anyone managed to make the escape from low wage, unfulfilling dead end work? If so, how did you do it? Did you go back to school and take on more student loans? Did you work your way up in a company?
I have been stuck in a low wage unfulfilling job for the past 4 years now. I was part of the middle class when the economy tanked. The job market kind of went down hill in my chosen field, so I have thought about going back to school, but I don't want more student loans.

I think I managed to get out of such a job when i have done a good job and went to apply for a job similar to a promotion. I was accepted and from then on i was able to build my career. :D
My job as a call center was not really a low waged job but it was unfulfilled and i have had battles everyday feeling the need to just resign everyday because i was too stressed to even go on with my work. The only thing that helped me was the thought that my family needs me and i still have a brother back then that needs to go to school.

Hi palmtree!
Going back to school can also help if you are aiming for promotion. Or you can have other jobs aside from the one that you have right now.
Have a great day!
