Shouldn't 'The Word of God' Be Reserved for the Spiritually Mature?

Because I think that using The WORD requires the understanding that--though it's communicated in many-many, infinitesimally-tiny parts--it's all ONE SINGLE IDEA ... i.e. one part of it WILL NOT DO THE JOB without all the other parts! One example: a friend of mine from Bible-study wanted everyone to agree with her that "Jesus says, 'If you ask for what-you-want in my name, it will be given unto you.'" Now, we all said 'Amen,' but we knew that 'what she wanted' WOULDN'T be granted. (What she wanted was 'possession of her children' ... we knew it wouldn't be granted since SHE was---I don't know the details, but she's manic-depressive, irrational, mentally deficient and has a speech-impediment; none of us would leave kids of our own with her, so we can't see how they'd give her HER kids back!) Another example: Doom. (No, not http://search.mylot.com/search.aspx?t=web&k=doom+video-game the pioneering first-person shooter from 1993.) I 'know' that Jesus Christ forgives everyone because "they do not know what they are doing" (His words from The Cross), but some people 'know' that there are people who are doomed because 'they do not know what they are doing' (i.e. because they love some idol instead of The Anointed of G*d). These- & other-misunderstandings are part of the reason why the Holy Roman Catholic Church withheld The Scriptures from the laypeople---because the complex explanations for the Truth BLIND the pre-Anointed ones to the simple understanding Anointed ones give! That's why I'd give the Bible an MPAA-rating of R (Restricted to audiences of mature readers). How about you?

Who would decide who is spiritually mature? Are pedophile priests spiritually mature?

First, this woman you talk about, needs help. You might like to read my article in ExpertsColumn about mental didorders and what can help those who have them. She might also be allergic to wheat and gluten. This article by Dr Campbell opend my eyes: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/07/31/dr-natasha-campbell-mcbride-on-gaps-nutritional-program.aspx The second part, if we think of the background, for example: the Catholic church has been in South America for about 500 years. Then how come that they have not even taught the people to read. There are still a lot of people who cannot afford to go to school and learn to read that way. In our time, there are lots of volunteers who have moved to these countries and are teaching reading and studying the Bible with those who want to do it. When they learn what the Bible really teaches, they find out that the church they have belonged to earlier, doesn't teach what the Bible says. Many have left their earlier religion. Every Kingdom Hall in the world is a place for studying, where people can learn to read and understand the Holy Scriptures. They also get personal help and can join in the world wide school program - all for free. These volunteer workers are doing just what Jesus said: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”"(Matthew 28:19,20 NIV) 1 Tim:13 says: "devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching." The first Christians were doing just that, teaching. There were no priests among them, everyone was taught and was qualified to teach what they had learned.

Many times the things we do, speak more than what we say. There is a lot of proof that the Bible is telling the truth, many prophecies are already fulfilled and so on.. If we want to find the true Christians in our days, we can look at what they do, and not only what they say.. We can compare with what Jesus and the first Christians did. They had no expensive church buildings, no paid priests, as everyone was preaching the good news. If you read the 2nd chapter in Daniel's book, we see that the last part of the prophecy is going to happen in our days.. http://wol.jw.org/en/wol/l/r1/lp-e?q=Daniel+2 You can find a lot more proof if you search the jw.org site and the online library - that is, if you really are searching the truth..

In response to your question, "Shouldn't 'The Word of God' Be Reserved for the Spiritually Mature?," I do not think so. Many unsaved talk to God, referring to Him as God -- and then some do surrender to Christ. I don't think this is an issue to be concerned about,

A child I taught is giving sermons already. I think he might be around 13teen. They are what you might call "Milk" of the gospel. Many people can comprehend the easier things at first and later on understand the deeper things.

In this day and age it's hard to "reserve" info and withhold it from anyone. But everyone interprets "The Word of God" at his own level, the more spiritually aware you are the better you grasp the meaning of His Word.
