hi everyone who is reading this! The economy is very tough these days, at least here in the USA. so when you go shopping, list in hand, you buy what you need and sometimes you may get something that is not on sale. that can stop. there are a ton of stores that have things for a $1 or less, such as Dollar Tree. so imagine paying only $1 for laundry soap, toilet paper, paper plates, etc. so always check out the dollar section(s) in your stores. they are great sections to buy from. 2nd go by the clearance section. who knows if that toilet paper you always buy will be on sale because the plastic has a rip in it or its smooshed. even laundry detergent will be on sale sometimes because they have an overstock. always look in the discount sections and in the dollar sections before going through the store and paying full retail price. extra bonus if you do have coupons!

Hi, I go to the dollar store a lot to get toilet paper, napkins, laundry items, water, etc. At rite aid they are selling toilet paper, napkins, garbage bags and tissue boxes for a dollar there too. So I go to both places now.

im suprised rite aid has that. mine don't. mine has baby wipes, cleaning supplies, alot of dog stuff, and some kitchen stuff for $1. the wipes are okay for emergancy uses because they are so small. but i like that there are a variety of stores out there that offer the $1 section because it does help alot.

Those are great suggestions and they are something that can save the discerning customer money. Another thing that we've discovered that has really saved a lot of money for our family is shopping thrift stores when it is something that is possible. My children have to wear a uniform for school and I've gotten the vast majority of their school clothes from a local thrift store and I've spent less on those than I would have spent to just buy a couple outfits from a new store. The biggest bonus on that is that they have half price on all clothing and shoes on Wednesdays, I always go there on Wednesday.

thats great. my local thrift store has clothing for 49cents on mondays only, and the sale tag has to be a certain color. buying used clothes for kids is the best thing for me because heck they grow out of them anyways. i wish people would understand that its okay to buy used clothes. i treat myself to new clothes from walmart. and they are really cheap. i look at the clearance section first because its almost 90% cheaper than the non-clearnaced items. and buying clothes when they go out of season is best to because even though you can't wear shorts in the snow, you have them for next summer and you spend only half or less than if you bought them right when summer started.

I agree. I love stores like Dollar Tree. you can get lots of things in there and not spend a great deal of money. Although, my mother has told me over time to check other stores too cause sometimes you end up paying a little bit more even at Dollar Tree.
