I have this problem. My 1 year old baby girl has quite a few mosquito bite marks that turns black. I hate looking at it. I tried a lot of mosquito repellant that are of course deet free. but then after a few hours the pesky mosquito bite her again. I tried installing window and door mosquito mesh. I also applied lotion on the bite marks. pls share your ideas. Thanks.

I heard that katialis (I am not sure with the name) works with dark scars. But I only heard about it from my officemate. She said her kids' baby sister apply it on insect bites and can lighten dark spots/scars. But I am not sure if it can be used with babies as well because her children are grown ups already between 9-13 years old. Why not try buying mosquito net for your baby's crib. You just have to cover the crib with the net and your baby will be safe from mosquitoes and other insects. And also, there this mosquito killer that looks like a badminton racket. It is cheap but can be very useful. I have this one at home. I usually use it in our room when I arrive in the evening to make sure no mosquito will be around mosquito bites can be very dangerous it can cause dengue.

We have a badminton splatter and yes indeed they are useful. I am planning to put mosquito net in her crib but knowing her she will just play with it and remove it on her own just what she did with our curtains. We also have Giga baby insect repellant spray and the baygon mosquito repellant. This mosquitoes are very tough.. makes me nuts.

There are ointments available which could help get rid of those nasty bite marks. Unfortunately, if your kid has such sensitive skin, the black mark right after being bitten is difficult to get rid of. I do think that people who is that sensitive will carry it until they grow up. My niece also has the same skin condition. She lived in Dubai and Singapore. She is half-Chinese, so her skin is really fair. It's unsightly actually to see those marks. But it usually just goes away on its own.

My daughter really has sensitive skin that's why we change her baby soap more often. We are always looking for a soap that is hypoallergenic and scent free. And now mosquitos, bedbugs and ants love to bite her. And its really hard to remove ther marks. We have insect reppellant of all kinds and yet this nastyinsects always come close especially during nap time. We tried to eliminate it but its hard. The pediatrician said that these marks will be gone in due time. It will take longer though

I think net is the good solution to avoid the mosquitoes specially for baby. Because if mosquitoes bits the baby then red sign appeared on skin.

Mosquito bites usually don't leave permanent marks or scars on the skin unless they get infected so there is nothing to worry. Just make sure you get rid of those mosquitoes, they hate electric fan by the way so I suggest you always have one near your baby.

my aunt told me to always put fan on my baby so the mosquito will fly away from her. wouldn't it cause gas or bloatedness? but i do put fan on her all the time its just that the fan is not too close. I plan to buy a new one that has a high speed.

Use alum powder (in the Philippines it is popularly known as tawas), a crystalline double sulfate of magnesium and potassium. Wet your finger, dip it in the alum powder and rub it over the mosquito bite. in minutes, the red swelling will be gone. i've proven this and it's very effective.

wow, we have alum powder here in our house. i never thought of any usage of it except for deodorant. i will definitely try this. but its kinda rough right? should i apply it immediately on the bump? what about the scars? what should i do to make my baby's legs as smooth as before?
