Account temporarily banned....

When I TRIED to log in the site (favorite article writing site) I GOT THE following warning
Your IP has tried to login to our site unsuccesfully too many times recently and was temporarly banned. Please try again later.
How can I get this? I am a regular member of the site since 2010 and loyal too. How could I LOG IN THE site unsuccessfully too many times. This Couldn't Have Happened ? The site is legit and has been paying me since I joined without delay. So, I am perplexed. I have sent a query to the site asking their explanation. Any ideas ?

What is the site? It could be a server-wide error. Or it could be someone trying to access your account. When you are able to sign in I recommend changing your password. Hope this helped.

Which problem? I still can't login, but I just got a message saying one of my articles was approved. Anyone in yet?

I'm now getting a message saying "Sorry, you've logged into iWriter with too many accounts." and I can't even get to the login page. Which is a pretty stupid message since I haven't been able to log in at all!

I had the link for the contact forum. You basically just need to wait until the servers get up and running again. Hopefully they give an explanation and can avoid this in the future. I have a feeling they will come back sometime tonight.

Yeah, I have exactly the same problem with the iwriter site. I even tried logging on from a friend's PC with a totally different IP and the error still came up, so it's definitely a site problem. I hope it's fixed soon as I have a special request deadline tonight! But, it's Sunday so I don't know whether the admins will fix the site in time...

Ya it's very frustrating. I went to submit an article and was logged out. Now I can't get back in.

Maybe, you just have tried more than one and you didn't do it to enter successfully. I know a lot of sites that requires a password and username and when they logged in a couple and triple times then they got banned. It is only the indication that they didn't own that account and so they are guessing for its password.

No. It's not working for anyone. It's on the server side of iWriter. Still not up today, sigh.

Your account may have been compromised, it could be a temporary problem from the parent site(rarely true) or you may have downloaded a software unknown to you that it affects your IP.

This is probably because someone did try to access your account and maybe tried using your laptop.

It didn't say 'you' tried to log-in too many times, it said "your IP" did. Maybe a bunch of your friends 'using the same IP' logged onto that site. That's one good reason for 'saving your cookie' from that site---until that cookie expires, you don't have to log-in again (and you're IP isn't seen as sending another log-in attempt).

There are many people who make such fraud.

I have also tried logging on through different IPs and keep getting the same response so I think it may be a problem with the site.
