Long distance relationship, right or wrong?

i have a chatmate from a long distance, we already chating for 8 months fro now and we could say we had developed trust, love and understandings. My parents don't agree about long distance relationship, How will i face my life with this situation..Shall i stop meeting him or stop loving him..i don't know how?
