While at a friend's house yesterday, the friend's younger sibling, a 3 year old, knocked my son's phone out of his hands making it fall and the screen cracked. The parents offered to replace it. So hubby and son went out to see what it would cost to get the screen repaired. $150. Meanwhile hubby bought son a protective case for his phone.. something we probably should have had sooner, but I guess sometimes it takes stuff like this to make you realize. We also added insurance on the phone so that if this happens in the future we can get it fixed for free. Again.. should have done it sooner, but we weren't thinking about that. The friend's family paid the $150 to fix the phone.. though we're still looking into cheaper options, if we find one we'll refund the difference. It was an accident after all, and I know I'd be hard pressed to come up with $150 if one of my kids broke someone else's phone. The phone is still usable.. it's just a slight crack, nothing major. My son isn't really concerned about it. He feels bad, but knows it was an accident and doesn't blame the kid or hold the parents responsible.. what a mature boy I have :) Have you ever accidentally broken a phone? Was it your fault or someone else's?

I did wash one once. Dearra had been having an anxiety attack, vomited on herself, and I had her change so I could wash them. Neither of us thought about the phone...

A wall phone but not a cell. I still have the old cell phone I got the first time I bought one. But I did drop a wall phone before they were cordless and it fell apart...literally.

Oh, I have done lots of things with phones - I drowned two of them by dropping them into the toilet and drowned another when a water bottle that I was carrying for my GD leaked in my bag. Fortunately the children replaced them for me. Yes, you're son is very ature and it was an accident and it is good that the parents stepped up to the plate and paid the money for it to be foxed. Insuring the phone is also a wise thing to do

Nice thinking for your son! It was just an accident so no one should be blamed about...good thing that they offered help.

Hello, well I remember when I was a kid, I accidentally destroyed my aunt's sim card, it wasn't physically destroyed but I made it unusable. I was a kid back then, and out of curiosity I kept on entering wrong pin codes, then even entered wrong puk codes, until the sim card was rejected. Back then, sim cards were very expensive in our country, my parent's paid for the replacement sim card of my aunt, and of course I got scolded. Then, as a teen, I remember accidentally breaking my cousin's laptop, but the funny thing is, the laptop is already having some problems even before I accidentally broke it totally. Actually, I offered my help to my cousin, since I have some experience with pc and laptop troubleshooting and as well doing some minor repair. In fact, I have helped them resolve a lot of computer issues in the past, unfortunately when I was trying to repair my cousin's laptop, I broke something inside it and broke it for good. I really felt bad since I have the best intentions, however due to my mistakes, I ended up making things worst. Then, when my mother knew what happened, since she's a generous and kind-hearted person, she insisted on paying my aunt for the laptop that I accidentally broke. Then my cousin ended up buying a new laptop, it was really frustrating for my part, because I remember my aunt somehow indirectly blaming me for what happened. I guess people are like that, they suddenly forget all the good things you have done to them, when you happen to commit a mistake to them even just for once.

I accidentally broke my iPod, I got the screen repaired for 80 dollars. I used something called iRepair. The screen repair on a iPhone 4s is around 70 dollars, not much sure of what the other costs are. Here is the link: http://www.irepair.com/
