Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) - How to treat it?

The doctor recently diagnosed me with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and recommended me to take birth control pills as a solution to this. Personally, I don't like taking pills as I know it will mess up with your hormones and there are a lot of side effects. Do you know of any alternative solution to address PCOS?

I was recently diagnosed with the same thing. I also did not want to go on birth control. Although they do have birth control that is not a pill that you have to take. In the information I was given if you are overweight then wight loss of even a small amount would help with this. A part of PCOS is where your hormones are messed up or out of balance. Just know that there are people out there with the same thing and if you need to talk just let me know.

You should ask your doctor what is likely to happen if you don't take the pills. You need to explain that you don't like having messed up hormones and you are concerned with the side effects. You could visit a natural clinic to see if there is anything natural that you can do to help your Polycyclic Ovarian Syndrome. I have a vegan diet so don't choose to take medicines provided by a doctor. Are you planning to get pregnant? If so I suggest you discuss that with your doctor. Good luck.

I understand your comments but part of PCOS is where your hormones are messed up/out of balance.

you need really to check the hosp. itsot easy and it sometimes goes with meds and sometimes it needs long treatment with hormone when it does stay long time it means it need operation, so its not really something to treat online

Yeah, I agree that it's always still best to have a face-to-face appointment with a doctor so that you get a better diagnosis and prescription. I just want to get the opinion of other people if in case they heard about other alternatives.

I understand where you are coming from. I was recently diagnosed with PCOS as well. I even have had to had a procedure done to remove a cyst the size of a baseball. According to the information I have gotten from my doctor as well as online one of the best ways to help with PCOS is weight loss and control, eating a heart healthy diet and etc. Although one of the most common treatments for it is birth control. Birth control does not cure it but is supposed to help with some of the symptoms. Although if you are wanting to get pregnant then I would suggest not taking birth control. My doctor said something to me about birth control when he first said something to me about PCOS but I told him that I did not really want it that I would like to try to have a child. Although realize that left untreated or nothing at all done about it that it could possibly lead to other things later in life. I know the information I have says that if you are overweight and have this then one thing that would help is to try to lose weight and that any amount could help. Just know that you are not alone and that if you need to talk just let me know.
