Old Rockers Never Die

I work as a stagehand at an outdoor concert venue and every year I think I am getting too old to do this type of work and wonder how much longer I can keep it up.
Well, it's gonna be for at least one more year, because I just got the schedule for the 2013 season (not released to public yet). Looks like we got Robert Plant and Black Sabbath this summer! I'm stoked. These guys are older than I am and if they can do it, I figure I can still schlep their equipment. Rumors have it Plant and Jason Bonham may re-unite. Bonham will be out with Heart which we also have. (Although, Zep rumors keep surfacing and keep getting put down.) Yep, this ain't the summer to retire.
Any other 'old' rockers out there who would get excited about a eminent Black Sabbath reunion?

I really think you are only as old as you feel. I would be stoked to see concerts of that caliber as well and I think I would hold off on retiring from being a stage hand! I never get to go to concerts anymore. Everything has gotten so darn expensive. Tickets are outrageous and well we don't have a babysitter either. I say you enjoy the concerts as long as you can!

We did lose Robert Plant. He went to a smaller venue.
But you're right about the cost of tickets! If I didn't work there, I would never be able to afford a concert, because when I go, I don't want to sit in the rafters or on the lawn and have to watch the show on a video screen. I gotta be up close where I can actually SEE the artist.

I hate that you lost Robert Plant.... I am afraid if I go to a concert all I can do is afford the lawn seats or the rafters. LOL!! I have not been to a concert in a few years.

I think never giving up and not giving a damn about society's expectations about what an "elderly" person should behave like is a part of rocker lifestyle, I guess... wild and free. I really admire these people, how they are so fearless and energetic at this age.

Ozzy is amazing. To see him, you think, "Oh yeah, he's getting old", but once he's on stage, he transforms. It is an amazing thing to watch. It's like he feeds off the energy of the crowd.
And I've noticed at these concerts, there are a lot of younger kids rocking out right alongside mom and gramdma!
ROCK ON!
