My art college gave all the illustration student free tickets to an animated movie called The Croods by Dreamworks Studio in the cinema. I watched the movie already and it's really entertaining. I think the college let us watch for free as a learning experience. Do any other colleges out there give students some freebies for learning experience.

That's really cool! I have had to go see a movie as a college class requirement, but I've never gotten free tickets to see a movie.

I was thinking of watching 'The Croods' too once it is showing in the cinema soon. Wow, you all are so lucky to be able to watch it free. I believe some colleges here do have sponsored tickets for relevant students are are taking graphic or animation arts to watch these wonderful cartoons or animation movies. There is one famous college in Malaysia called 'One Academy' who have many students involved in movies making and animations that won awards. Hopefully there will be more free movies for you and your college mates.

wow, that is nice. i have not experienced anything like that back in my college days but it certainly would be great if anything like that would be given to students for knowledge and additional learning experience. that would be fun.

Well, it is good to encourage the students to enjoy and learn together. What is important point here is your great efforts to understand the thematic aspect of the movie. This is also a good way to attract more students in the campus. Anyhow I must say it is positive learning environment.

Yup they do, i know colleges here give our free laptops to MBA. Tricky part is the cost of the laptop is already included in the course fee so, they are not really giving out but making a business out of it. On another note, i have watched The Croods and its an awesome movie.

That's really nice of your college. In my experience any film-viewing sponsored by the school would normally be held in the AVR(Audi0-Visual Room) or anything similar and the films we would watch would not normally be anything commercial. I do remember though, back when I was in my elementary years that our school required every student to watch a movie as a group per class in a movie house but it wasn't for free. I remember the movie was Free Willie. It was quite an experience.

Wow that is really amazing for the people behind that idea, giving you students free tickets... just remember back in high school we are told to watch a movie for our history class and it is a compulsory to buy tickets for all the students, they sell it half the price from our school though...

Awesome! I have seen the Croods from their facebook page. I am really impressed with the character design. These characters are unique and intriguing and they are rendered very well. We did not get tickets, however, we would get to see the movies in class. We saw shorts as well as entire films. There was extensive discussion and it always helped us develop into better animators. These people are the masters of their time. I appreciate the fact that we got to see such awesome animated films durning class time.

Well, of course, very nice to get a free ticket to watch the movie. I think it is their own way by your campus to attract and raise their students' enthusiasm for learning. They think that students can learn from the outside world, from fil that is so, and of course from experience and analysis. Of course you can be lucky like that.
