I had a sleepless night yesterday, because once again a member of my family, a brother actually is going abroad, for the reason that has been time and again the reason of every overseas worker, "to find a greener pasture." We were five siblings. The three others are already working abroad and now him.I will soon follow them hopefully this year but I am rather hesitant or afraid. Afraid of what the other side of the world will offer me. And then I realized how brave they, the overseas workers are. Leaving behind their comfort zones, their happiness, their lives, their family for the future only God knows. For me, they really are the heroes of our generation. Not winning the wars over conquerors, but winning the loneliness and the hardships of being miles away from where they once belong.

I agree. they are heroes, and it really is sad that they are leaving us. but I'd rather just be happy for them because I know that they all do that realize their dreams.

That's true. we'll soon realize that we can continue our own lives without them beside us (physically) and sometimes that's just how it is supposed to be.

I agree with those that are brave enough to be far from their families, only to bring food at the table and give their children good future. I just hope that a lot of them can comeback already and be with their family. there is nothing better than a family that is together, going through life with each other.
Even if there are success stories, those who are left in the Philippines suffer a lot too and if they both are unable to cope we see how many families this has separated.

True. Right now, I've also decided to apply for overseas. It wouldn't be easy because I'll be leaving my daughter. It takes a lot of courage and emotional strength to take another journey.

That is one of the challenging things in life.. to work or stay beyond your comfort zone.. working abroad is not that easy most of my sisters are working abroad and they are telling me that working and living in a foreign country is not easy..since they have their rules and policies.. and you have to abide and familiarize their policies to avoid complications.

Maybe they are brave, but finally they are men and as I am a lady and I have left my every single happiness of my life in my country for a man who terribly show that he loves me and cheated me, while I live in his country so I do not think anybody can be brave more than a lady.
Men actually do not hurt and surrond people of a man also can not hurt him that much but for an alone lady, when is alone somewhere and in hand of cheater ones, and all disturb her just becuase she is not in her country is something much diffrent from what a man can experience while is abroad,
I have passed years of harresments and beating up with this man, I lost my father while of being abroad just because of him and all who are around like in laws also are not good to me just because I am a foreigner and not in the same religion of these ones. I have passed alot by the name of God but I do not think if life abroad is that much difficult for a man becuase finally they are man and they work and can take care of themself much better than a lady.

You are perfectly right! One must have the courage to go alone and to start from the beginning without the support of his family. Here in my country almost every family has a member who is working and living abroad and will never return to live here again. That`s sad but everybody is looking for a better future.Sometimes it`s the only way to survive.
