Is it possible here to copy someone's comment in a particular started discussion and either it is our own started discussion or the other co mylotters' and the purpose is to post it to other social networking sites for sharing information and awareness?
Isn't it an act of Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is when you claim any post by someone else to be yours and don't mention the source of the post. It's an unfair practice that,if caught, causes problems. You must have heard about a lady who won the famous Booker award, but was later found to have plagiarized some parts of her book.In what you have mentioned here,if the source is not disclosed, then it is plagiarism.

I think it is even if the intention is noble.
However the user may ask the mylotter if she/he can use it on a social networking site for a good cause. The person copying the statement should mention the name of the person who wrote it in respect to this person

If a person try to represent another author's work as their own they are committing plagiarism. I have heard of this before on Mylot but I didn't want to believe it. I guess it takes all types to make a good site. If someone is really that unimaginative and lazy that they have to steal others work then that is pretty pathetic.

I do think that it is fine to post someone else's comment for as long as you acknowledge where that message came from or who made that comment.

I would think it is ok. As long has you give credit to the one who wrote it.
