i have been thinking about the differences between public and private schools. a lot of people think and say that private school teaching and education is better compare to public school teaching and a lot of people are proud to say or would want their children to enter private schools despite of the fact that private schools have high tuition fees compare to public schools. i think that public school or education is cheap because it is government owned or it is the government who provides for the teachers and employees' salaries as well as maintenance of the building and structure while the private school education is higher because the salaries and the maintenance of the school and employees is based or taken on the payments of the students to these institutions. but all in all, i think private or public education, they are all the same, it doesn't matter if you are in a private or public school, because it is all the same students are being taught how to read and write or they just learn the same things. what do you think?

You made a pretty good point there :) Both public and private schools follow a curriculum approved by the Education Board so there's no big difference in the subjects to be taught.
Though I think the difference is the kind of environment the students are put in. Private schools have better facilities, which explains the higher tuition fee, and the teacher-student ratio is lesser compared to those in public schools. Since its cheaper in public schools, those who are unable to send their children to private schools will opt to let them study in public, hence the higher number of students per class. However, studying in a private school is no guarantee that a student will excel because everything else has to depend on the student's willingness and determination to learn.

you know what it is not about the school which is the private one and the public..Its all about the one who study..If the student wants to learn even if he/she study in the public school they can get a higher grade if they want to or they are going to study..what it is in the private school if the student did not study. What matter most is the one who study.

I think the education a child receives depends more on the teachers and students than on whether the school is public or private. Motivated teachers can be found in both types of schools, and if a child is open to learning, he will learn.
So, I believe the reputation of the school, whether public or private, is the most important factor.

Well,
i think we cannot classify all the private group and public group into two separate categories because we cannot really classify them like that.
there are many different types of school in public and its the same for private school too.
so i think we need to read the reviews of each and every school to give commentes. we cannot say for sure that either private or public school is better.

I think it is just in facilities and the availability of the learning equipments in the school. I grew up studying in public school and all I can say is the school you are studying didn't matter whether it is public or private, it is on the student that is willing to learn whether the school can provide or not the needed learning equipments.

I think it depends on the school itself. If the teachers are paid more by a private company they may be more happy in the financial run where it would reflect on their job performance where the students are concerned. The public school system some teachers are there because they love their job others are there just for a paycheck. However in Florida I am not sure about other states the test scores of that teachers class overall will determine if they will still have a job the next year or not. It seems if they are trying to put more structure and pressure on the teachers on the public school system to make sure they are doing their jobs correctly to benefit the kids. I know it's a bit harder on the private schools because if they don't maintain a certain academic structure for the kids to pass their yearly tests they will lose the private funding as well.

In my home country public education is provided in free schools which are governed by the local education authorities. Primary schools, secondary schools and further education colleges are available. I know that the primary school that my son goes to is highly regarded by the Office for Standards in Schools and had won many awards.
Private schools are available and for those parents pay the expensive fees. The children going to those would be rich and posh. Some children from poorer backgrounds might gain a scholar ship to go to one of those. Class sizes seem to be much smaller than at public schools. The private schools would be very well resourced. They would have very high standards.
It is all the same. Both teach children to read and write. Private school students are more likely to get into the top universities. I am a primary school teacher and I like to teach in public schools.

Private schools here is better than public schools because of the quality of teaching, and the facilities. Parents also feel safer enrolling their kids in a private school than a public school because of the security. Of course, I'm just speaking from what I have been hearing. Some people think that public schools are better because of they're cheaper. Money is an important factor, obviously.

Hi jadoixa!
How are you?
I agree with you on your stand that it doesn't matter whether you go to private or public school for that matter. It all depends on the student if he/she will study well.
Have a great day!

I think that it is dependent on where the schools are. There are some very good public schools and some bad public schools. My kids are in public school but if I could I would put them in private schools.

I think the only difference is the superficial environment they are in. As for the public schools, I can really say that they lack the facilities and structures to cater the needs and desires of their students. As for private schools, they can afford to buy such facilities due to their high tuition fees. But in terms of effectivity and teaching standards, I think they are somehow the same.

I think both of them have their good bits and their bad bits. Private education kind of alienates you from everybody else, but it can also be quite good. But public education will always be the best, because it gives you the full experience. I think everyone should try a bit of both in their lives.

Private schools may have smaller classes. Therefore the attention given to each child is more. The problem most private schools are facing is the shortage of teachers. Private schools cannot afford to pay a high salary to their teachers. On top of that teachers are expected to do administrative work and run activities like the public school teachers, minus the benefits public school teachers enjoy as a government servant.
If you are thinking private education, go to International School that does not employ locals as teachers. This will never be shortage of teachers in these schools. Assistants teachers are provided, so teachers don't have to do extra work except to deliver the lessons well. The fees is also double or triple that of a private school fees.
