My husband came home from work at around noon today. I guess he got sick at work. He's been home sleeping ever since. But his cell phone has not stopped ringing all afternoon! Mostly it's his boss or someone else at the store.. I haven't answered it. One time my son answered it and they asked if hubby was there and my son said no and hung up. Seriously though.. he's sent home sick and they can't stop calling him?? He's sick you jerks! Leave him alone! I'd answer and tell them so.. but I don't want to get hubby fired.

Kats, i had gone through this kind of situation when i was still working. One of my ex-boss seems don't understand that his staffs are normal humans. Can falls ill and have to rest at home to recuperate. He ever called me once when i took sick leave due to strong flu and fever. Whenever he saw any of his staffs went missing, h will start looking for that staff. Seems like, he is really very free to supervise every of his staffs. Sometimes, i think back and feels that every staffs that worked for this boss is really in a pity state. Because he never care much the welfare of his staffs, except earning money and staffs must be like robots. No matter how ill, must still come to work. Hope your hubby boss is not as terrible as my ex-boss.

What if they're checking up to make sure he went home?

They had best leave him alone if they want him to get better. It is annoying. If he is so indispensable they should pay him double. Make the job worth his while.

Alot of people don't have alot of sense! I would answer the phone and say...I'm sorry he's in the bathroom upchucking...maybe they would get the hint!

Probably not.. they probably would have said to have him call back when he's done, LOL.

How do they handle things when he's not there? Can they function at all? Did he go back to work and find out why they couldn't stop bugging him when they knew he was sick? Or were they hoping for him to pick up and hear something in the back ground that would show him to be something other than sick? And no matter how much they annoy you and you'd love to give them a piece of your mind you have to bite your tongue to keep food on the table.

I never asked him why they'd called so much, and he didn't tell me. He doesn't normally bore me with details about his job.. just the interesting stuff. Since he is head of the collections department it was probably just questions about a payment or who owes what or something like that.

I can see where you are coming from. My husband's cell phone starts ringing the minute he walks in the door from work. Really? He was just there for 10 hours...I don't get what they need all night long after he was there all day. Oh well, I try to not complain because I am just grateful that he has a job.

He can never be left alone, not on days off, not even on vacation!

Why does it always seem to be the case that when someone is not at work that those people that they work with are constantly calling and bothering that person? I swear this is something that happens at our house in the evenings after Tom has come home from work for the evening and a lot of times he ends up having to go back to work to fix something. Then there is my mother who was just on vacation two weeks ago and the people from her office called her at least once a day every day while she was taking her time off.

Hope your husband get well soon. I can imagine, because I am in the same stressed situation now. Very-very disturbing. And I often turn off my cellphone now.
