Using to relaive symtpoms

I just was reading on a forum about Chrons and Colitis, half the users said they use weed everynight to releave symtpoms. For me personally I wouldn't see as they are doing it illegally (you can get it from your doctor prescribed). It could rui future careers, jobs, and much more. I couldn't believe the number of people who use it, and I wonder if it actually works or it's just in their heads.
