Do you believe that there are foods that makes you feel good or comfortable? Food that makes you up when you're feeling down or so stressed? I believe there is! :) I am not feeling well due to stomache ache. Medicines helped ofcourse but since I found fries in our refrigirator, I felt eating and cooking it. I need to eat something. When I eat rice, I felt dizzy and I felt throwing up. French fries made me happy aside from the chocolates. I know they are not healthy but I feel they are my comfort food. They are my companions in bed aside from the soup.

Its starch. Starch is loaded with calories, not good. But it makes good comfort food indeed.

I really do not rely on food when I am down or upset. I usually do not have the urge to eat at all. I would rather just watch tv or spend time in front of my laptop. But if I do think of food, I usually eat a cookie and a glass of very cold water. It is just something to munch on when I feel like it.

You've got a weird tummy! When I am in the same condition, I stay away from oily food and food with strong taste.

I am not feeling well since yesterday due to hyperacidity and fever. I can't eat much because I throw up. When I ate fries and chocolate, I felt good and slept well.

These fried items may give you comfort for the time being but they may not be of great comfort to your digestive system. As far as I am concerned, there is one kind of food which gives me maximum comfort. It is steaming hot white rice with rasam[a diluted soup with tomatoes ,dhal and some standard rasam powder in it.]

Whenever I am not feeling well, I would asked my husband to buy porridge. Eating this kind of food would make me feel comfortable. However, if I feel stressed, there is only one food that can make me feel alive. And that is Ice cream! Have a great day!

I know they are not healthy. Too much of anything is bad too. It is just that I felt good after eating those in times that I am very sick and can't eat any "real" food.

Chocolate, porridge, puddings and rich stews are all comfort foods for me. Anything that is tasty and warming. I'm surprised you can tolerate fried food when your stomach is playing up. Fried and fatty foods are usually the first things people need to stay away from, also fries usually have lots of salt which we also need to watch.

My girl...under any circumstances could I eat ANY fried foods, let alone Fries, drenched in oil with a upset tummy. They are so hard on your digestive system, when you are already having problems with it! Ginger or peppermint tea...and for me, when ill...a good, hearty home-made Chicken or Turkey soup!

Yes, they are called 'comfort foods'. Everybody has special ones that they like. Stomach aches can be relieved with peppermint tea. Fried foods is the worst thing you can do when you are having stomach problems. You need to use the B.R.A.T. diet which includes bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. These are foods that have the least assault on your digestive system. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I wouldn't think that fried foods would make you feel any better if you are suffering a stomachache. Mint tea would be a good choice. Toast would be soothing as well.

I certainly do believe that there are a number of different comfort foods and the foods that are comforting for one person might not be the same foods that are comforting for the next person. For example, I do find comfort in heavier foods like chicken pot pie or something like that. However when I'm not feeling well, I have to admit that my personal comfort food is baked sweet potatoes. I really can't tell you why those are a comfort food to me, but they are.

OH yes! For me it is Tofurky Sausages (protein based sausage, very good), French Fries, Onion Rings, Pasta and finally, the big bad boy of all: Sugary Soda. Yes, I have comfort foods, and I've noticed that companies know we like them, they are often not on the cheap end of the spectrum for the good stuff. Have a cool day!

Food should never be a comfort factor for us,because then we will depend on it,whenever we are upset or distressed,so make sure your food, is one that will give you health and wellness rather than comfort. When you are stressed, relax yourself with positive thought rather than depend on food.Bible is a good medicine for stress.Read the New testament daily.

When i am stressed or feeling down, i can't eat. I feel like throwing up when i eat. But when i am so happy that's the time that i really would eat my comfort foods - actually there are a lot, ice cream, chocolates and a lot more. So they are my comfort foods only when i am so happy.
