Im watching an infomercial right now showing the singers and listening to the Old Songs before. It made me smile and think of my parents singing it. Songs like "Raindrops keep falling in my head, You light up my life, She believes in me, Through the years". Oh my God! Old songs are just so awesome! If only I have the money right now I would buy it and send it to my mom. She would love it.

I agree with you. I really prefer old songs that modern songs. I noticed that old songs are very meaningful and when you listen to these songs it will touch your heart. Sometimes, when I'm searching for new songs online, I end up downloading old song because it catches my attention. But I'm not saying that modern songs are not meaningful. Its just that some songs are not really good in my ears like sexy songs. I can listen to any genre as long as it is meaningful and with sense.

Hi there blue butterfly!! how are you doiing?! =) I super love these songs too. everytime it is almost rainy season.. i would even play the song "Rythm of the Rain" by the cascades. oh such a wonderful song that is never going out of style.
" listen to the rhythm of the falling rain... telling me just what a fool i've been... the only girl i care about is gone away, looking for a brand new start. Little does she know that when she left that day, along with her she took my heart. "
My mom also loves these songs, and i have downloaded a lot for her as well. You'd see her get so excited to play them and i know that it made her happy that she can once again sing to songs she is familiar with. She's never really the type that loves songs but she does love these old songs. ;)

Old songs are not only just songs, they to some extent, are something wonderful in our memory and soul. When I am tired,I will listen some old light songs, which make me relaxed. When I am depressed and lonely,I will listen to some soothing music.Sometimes, some old pure music is enough, because it can make me thingking nothing.
Compared with modern pop songs,I prefer old songs. In my personal opinion, old songs bring me more.
After intercouse with some friends who are the same age as me,I find they also prefer old songs. One said some time ago that when we are busy with our work and life and suddenly an old song touch our soul, our tears may run down our face.

Awesome!!! Yes butterfuly, that is exactly the word to describe old songs! They have the power to mesmerize and to captivate the heart of the listeners. What magic do they have that they could powerfully bring back the lovely memories of the good old days?
The older the song, the deeper it penetrates into my heart. When I hear Moon River, Sonata of Love, Paper Roses, No other Love and many more,, I would stop whatever task I am doing to feel the lyrics and the melody. I am thankful to youtube because from that site I could freely watch and listen to all the songs of my Mom's generation and also the favorites of my eldest brother and sister. Now they are also my favorites because as I listen to them, my childhood days flash back like a fantasy.
How could most of the music of today can't be as wonderful as the songs of yesteryears? I really wonder why?

Oh the song "Moon River". I remember I used to sing that one on top of the table back in a day lol! And my godparents, my sisters, and parents are my audience haha. And your right, today's music is so different from before. Although there are some songs that are good nowadays too but not as wonderful as the old ones.

Oops...I am from that generation of the OLD songs...and for that I am thankful. I find, most are melodious..most have a tune...and they are NOT so electronically enhanced. And you CAN sing along to the words! The words are meaningful.
I am not opposed to change...my son would be about your age, and I do listen to his music..but mostly I cannot hear the words for the electronic enhancement...and right now, responding to this discussion, I cannot think of a current tune..that i could sing along, too!

When I was very young, the vast majority of the music that I listened to was older music so I always have a certain fondness when I hear those songs that I used to listen to when I was young.
I've never actually bought any CDs of the music that my parents brought me up listening to, but I do listen to those songs on a fairly regular basis on youtube. I love the fact that you can find pretty much any song that you would like to hear on youtube.
