Hi mylotters or mylotians. Okay, i know you we are called that because we are members or inhabitants of mylot. But i'm wondering, where did the word "myLot" come from. I thought it has something to do with having a piece of space or place that i can call my own so i can call it mylot. How about you? What do you think?

Six years ago, "Crash" (an unidentified but high-ranking person in the MyLot organisation) answered this as follows:
"A common definition of the noun "lot" is -- "a piece of land forming a part of a district, city, or other community." So the piece of land is our website, and the community is you guys, so...
myLot = your community!"
(See Response #86 here: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1402356.aspx?p=9 )
There are a lot of very interesting questions and the OFFICIAL and authorised answers to them in that discussion (if you take the trouble to go through it), including how the earnings algorithm actually works.

That discussion is indeed extremely interesting. I have it bookmarked and often refer to the responses buy the admin when I am attempting to answer questions by other users here. Everyone would learn a lot about myLot if they have time to go through it too.
Happy to help, welcome aboard and thank you for the BR

Hi mysdianait & owlwings, thanks so much for leading me to that discussion with "Crash". I have learned a lot from that post and responses from different mylot members. I even came across this response from "dodoguy" who got $20 bucks for asking the best question. Mylot and its purpose of existence, its goals and its people are all clear to me now, after reading some part of Crash's discussion. Thanks again guys.

I always associated lot as in virtual place but I suppose it could also mean lot(s) as in much of something as in interests. We do know that the my part indicates ownership which we could say is our own discussions as we are provided a listing of everything we put in here.

Hi friend ! Mylot is a combination of 2 words , my and lot . It means your space in a certain place . A place for you to express and interact with people. A place where you can share common interest with other people. Mylot means your own space !

I think its because... we are gathered in this community for a reason. To discuss, to listen, to respond to people's problems, questions and get our issues resolved. Discuss anything under the sky. We meet and mingle with people of our own tastes, interests etc... Meet people of similar kind all over the world. So basically i think, my lot means, my community of like minded people. People who is a part of your interests and other likes an dislikes.
This is what i think.
