Craptastic TV

I watched a show that aired on Tuesday night called Splash. I would say it's craptastic television. Meaning it's complete trash (meaningless, silly) but it's also TV you don't want to look away from. Maybe like a car accident. You know it's awful, but you can't help but look. I don't usually use the word cr@p, but craptastic TV is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw it. Do you ever watch anything like that? Any shows you consider craptastic? Splash is a show where "stars" compete in diving, led by Greg Louganis (former Olympic champion). Some of the "stars" are Kendra Wilkinson, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Keisha Knight-Pulliam (Rudy from The Cosby Show), NFL star Ndamukong Suh, Louie Anderson....Whoever is voted the worst gets eliminated each week. Anybody catch it?

I really do not watch shows like this - just never been interested in them so do not go to channels that show them. Sounds really awful

I didn't watch it. The show is not on consistently plus I have better things to watch. As far as watching cr@p television that you can't turn away from... today I was watching my taped episode of Celebrity Apprentice from Sunday. I cannot stand Omorosa and can't believe she is getting away with the stuff she is dishing out. I can't stand the woman. I hope she gets the heave-ho this week. Yes, I will watch it (or tape it) again. Can't stop watching it for some reason.

Oh, you mean another one of those stupid reality TV shows where no-name "stars" get to try to make their way into the limelight.. either again or for the first time? What is it that makes people want to watch junk like that.. I really don't get it?

I am aware of the show. I only watch a little bit of it. This is the first time we get to see more of Greg Louganis and David Boudia. On Tuesday nights for the last few weeks, I have been recording Voice episodes so I can watch it later and skip through all the drama. As far as Splash goes, it would not compete well with the Voice. Splash has a similarity with another show called Dancing With The Stars. For DCWTS, people to get see different celebrities like football player, lawyers, and actors/actresses learn how to dance in different manners. I don't know whether or not they feel embarrass with their moves and such, but cameras would most of the time show emotions, stupidity and such. Same goes Splash. In just few minutes of watching and being aware of the trailer of the show, audience will get to see different attitudes of celebrities. We get to see how weak some of them are, how chicken some of them get to be, and so on. If I am a celebrity, I would not be appearing in any of these reality shows. That's me and of course you would never know. So much for the concept of reality. I don't think this show "Splash" would last. Don't quote me, we just have to wait and see.

I forgot to add. I'd rather watch So You Think You Can Dance since I would rather watch talent rather than watching a football player learning how to dance. I'd rather watch Summer Olympics. That's enough rather than watching how nervous a celebrity could be.

I was angry at myself for trying to watch that boring waste of time. I was trying to figure out is this the state of 'regular' television..I think they probably just needed something to fill that time slot..I mean, the point is diving? If I want to see some random people diving and swimming, I can just watch the Olympics...

They are cheap. And with the networks losing money every moment even bad reality shows make them a little money.

now that I think about it, that Splash show reminds me of that other awful show they had on that channel called Wipeout..I didn't think anything could get any worse than that..I thought that show was a cruel joke..lol

It's right down there with Dancing With The Stars, Apprentice, So You Think You Can Dance (coming back this summer most likely)and anything else that really has no point..craptastic, indeed..

I watched that show too. I didn't think the right one was taken out as she was better than the comedian. He made such a big splash that those close around him should have gotten wet. Many times these celebrative shows the winner is more likely to be popularity instead of real talent. I don't think the guy who did all the turns got a very good score. I was busy sewing so I didn't really waste my time.

The girl who was voted out was definitely not the worst. I think they kept some of the others because the others made a better story.

I think many times it is more because of ratings.

No didn't watch and am certain didn't miss anything. Its hard to believe people watch and its the reason this kind of show gets to air. The ratings were high, so a lot of people did watch. NCIS did beat this show, so there was some good news.

I watched NCIS. I'm really not interested in those shows. The first couple of times they had some of those so called reality shows I watched them but they got old fast; especially the ones with has-beens or never were stars.

hi AmbiePam I did not see that one but there's another one on tv I saw once when my computer was down where they have this boat or boats with all sorts of gizmos on them that knock down the people who try to successfully navigate all of the stuff and be winners. Most all of them eventually fall into the water. Its hard to explain as the stuff they have built on the boats is so bizarre you would have to see it and most moves all the times so makes it really hard for the contestants to stay long enough to dodge all the stuff they must pass by. I think its really a dorky show my self.

Hi Ambie Yes I watched it once, it was okay but I have not watched it since, now I know why I like your title "craptastic". I sort of remember the one I had watched it had one of the Wives from those shows Wives of Beverly Hills that is the only one I can remember. I never look for it I guess it didn't make that much of an impression on me.

Yes You are right sometime we are watching those things which we don't want to see. And also we don't want to listen somethings like Mom's abuses while she is in anger. Television shows are sometimes very stupid and we don't have idea that why it is showing?
