I think a student without uniforms is not a good idea, it just make deep gap among students. Because, they will wear clothes that show their wealth. I think it is not healthy for school nuance, where students should has same position in their school. Wearing uniform is not only an identity but also it teach students that they have same position in school. I think, my country never apply student without uniform. I am very sad to hear this information friend...Wealth have been dominated in each sides of life...

My son is a grade 3 pupil in a primary school. Usually most of the schools require the students to wear uniforms. My son's school just requires them to wear the uniforms on Monday and Friday only. Namely you can wear whatever you like from Tuesday until Thursday. I like it because at least the students can still have choice to choose their clothes. I think it is important to be different.

Some schools use to have uniforms, but I don't know if they still do.

Well, in my country, it was never like that every school had uniforms. My school had a semi-uniform for some years when I attended, we had to wear a dark blue cloak... but people started wearing different shades of blue shirts and stuff... and it kind of got out of hand. And I didn't really understand this cloak thing, because the sleeves of the shirts you were wearing, your pants and your shoes were different... and for me, a uniform's strength lies in being the same, and showing some school spirit.

Mine attend a public school so they can wear whatever they wish as long as it is appropriate according to the rules and they don't have a concert to perform that day. Only private or charter school students have to wear a uniform all the time.

All private and public schools in our country has uniform for their students. If there are schools that does not have any uniforms, I do think there are only a few of them.
Having to wear the school uniform gives the school importance as well as makes it easier for the family instead of having to wear street clothes. Coz not all could really afford to buy something new each time. And this would only be another cause of bullying from those who can afford.

there are reasons behind why other schools permit their students not to wear uniforms. like here in the philippines, i know a school that never required their college students to were uniforms...their students may even wear shorts or whatever they like..but, the school only accepts students to enroll in that school who pass their very hard aptitude exam..students in public schools here aren't also required for uniforms..

When I was still in elementary grade, I went to public school.Though school uniforms are implemented, it was not as cumpolsary as of in the private school. But, I prefer to use our uniform for that time I had only limited casual or new and nice dress. lol. And so if I use it everyday then it might get old unlike the uniform that it is very hard to look old.

Hello Tushavi!
I haven't heard or read anything to do with uniforms being stopped and I actually hope it doesn't happen. Here in Australia, school kids wear uniforms. I think wearing a uniform is a good idea because if I went to a school that didn't wear a uniform then I would have the problem of trying to find clothes to wear. I personally don't have a great collection of clothes and I know for sure that girls would be wanting to wear clothes to grab guys attention or try to out-do other girls. It would just be horrible I reckon.
Happy MyLotting.

I pretty much had to wear the same dress every day for a week so uniforms would have been a blessing to me.

In my country majority if not all schools have uniform with colors of their choice. School uniform is mandatory up to high school whereby by the end of high school you will have attained 18 years and by law you are no longer a child. After that you join college you are an adult and can dress the way you like.

Here in Jamaica all the children wear uniforms. The boys are usually in khaki pants and shirts but wear epaulettes and this would show what school they attend. I prefer children to be in uniform.
