Why rank tuners are labelled as doctored tracks?

After Australia's hammering in India, many fans have been vociferous about rank turners given in this series calling them doctored tracks. What i cant understand is that if a track provides much more help to pace bowlers than spinners than its termed a sporting track while a pitch providing more help to spinners is a doctored one.Earlier in India pitches were too batting friendly and it was very difficult for opposition bowlers to take 20 wickets.Perfect example of such pitch is the one given at Ahmadabad in Eng vs India series. After that Dhoni demanded rank turner in-spite of winning that test and that gave equal chance to England for winning the test .Its just simple logic, if you have good fast bowlers you can win in Australia,Eng and SA , same way if you have good spinners your chances of winning in India is more on these rank turners that usual dust bowls,However few Indian players suggested after 8-0 loss in Aus and Eng that green tops were given in those series which favored home team , those were wrong statements too.So is it fair to label rank turners as doctored tracks?

Whining about the condition of the pitch is the first thing that losing teams do after losing the match. The pitch might be perfect but to avoid taking the responsibility of the defeat the losers blame it all on the pitch and other such not so significant factors. Obviously every team has has to have a home adavntage which in the case of cricket comes in the form of the pitch,it is the different pitches all over the world that make the game more exciting and they also make the players use their skills to their best,to perform well in different situations. So it would be better for the cricketing teams to focus on their cricket and not on trivial issues such as a turning track or a seaming track.

Absolutely correct,in professional sports there is no place for excuses.Whether its a pitch with swing or spin , its same for both teams and hence fair.So like you mentioned its better to focus on cricket. Thanks a lot for your response.

Each home team plays on tracks which give them advantage. Australians do that, South Africans do that and so too NewZealand. So, why not India. Well, an alternative could be neutral test venues and neutral pitches. Would that work?

Yes that would work surely, its not difficult to prepare neutral tracks which help fast bowlers on first three days and spinners on last two.Another option can be playing equal number of test matches against same opposition home and away. This is the format ICC has for proposed test championship, and like you correctly mentioned tracks prepared for home advantage is fair .Thanks a lot for your response.

Or may be something like India playing South Africa in NewZealand, or Australia playing England in South Africa. That could mean increased traveling for players, yet it would spice up cricket as well. And why not tri-nation test series!!

Well that's a good idea, much better than playing pointless t20 leagues.
