I am a new teacher and it is so hard for me to control them. I do not want to be bad tempered but they are very disruptive sometimes. My personality is cheerful. I laugh too much.

I have been a teacher for a while in one of the worst high schools I have ever seen.My class was very very disruptive at firs but finally they all loved me.So what I did was find out who starts first. In every class there are few kids that start the unwanted behavior. When you find who is leading the class and causing the trouble work with the. Firs just stand by them look at them more often.Ask them more questions.

The first thing you have to enforce ,or make them understand is this "you are the students and i am the teacher" tell them not to speak until spoken too. then enforce it. you set the rules. If you don't do it now you will be in trouble your whole career. They will respect you for being firm, and letting them know where you stand. our daughter is always testing us "3" , mother letshe r have her way, but when i say something she minds, but not her mom, I am firm and consistent.

You are right, I think it is the only way to do it. I have seen other teachers who are very respected. They are firm and do not accept any disruptive behaviour. I were nice and tolerant and now I cannot get a job. So thanks very much.

I smile too much, too! And I will be a teacher in a few months! I've heard that if I cannot be firm and strict, the class will be a disorder, and the students will not respect you as much as they should do. So try to keep a little bit serious at class, and try some methods to regulate your class in a more orderly way. For example, make yourself worth their respect and veneration. Formulate rules with them. Talk to the most naughty ones, or nominate them as the group leaders. As a would be teacher, I am also looking for some good suggestions to this problem, but cheer up! There must be a perfect solution to this, and you will know how to deal with it after teaching for some time. It needs experience, too.
